Set up live gigs with each other, announce gigs you're playing around the country or whatever, talk about how the show went, post links to recordings, etc.
Okay with Minty Handy off for now, we'll have a ZipLee (variation Zipline) set in its place.
We are definitely going on for a live fight. We just need to see if we are on for attachment to the big fight.
Thanks to all who are willing to chip in for the rehearsal space. Talk amongst yourselves over who will pay how much time and for which days.
So the line-ups for the two nights looks like:
Saturday: Heuristics Inc., Niveous, ZipLee, Charcoal and Roymond
Sunday: Feldspar, Ben Kreiger, (???), Glennny, Jim Tyrrell
I still have no band for that missing slot. I'm going to inquire with a few more local bands like Lonbobby and Max the Cat but no promises. If not, then perhaps we can fill the time with some sort of supergroup.
Luke Henley may make an appearance mattering on his flight. And a few other songfighters have expressed coming down to see the show.
I'd truly appreciate not being last. Well, my wife would, too. Hard to keep a grad student/mom/self employed designer up much past 11. I'm willing but if someone else is up for it . . .
Also, could you update the first post in this thread with all the specifics? Does everyone realize Sunday is a night gig? Or did I get that wrong?

Both gigs are from 9 til 1. Or should I see if we can run from 8 til 12? (That may be better for some like me, who has to find a way to get back to NJ)
Does anyone feel like going last on Saturday?
The sound of ending with a jam on Sunday could be a good thing. Especially if we convince some of the non-participating SF'ers to come up. Did I mention that Max the Cat said he might come. So did Yook. So did Narbotic and Metalmags.
There's a possibility that I'll be in NYC (specifically, Brooklyn) that weekend. If I am, I'll stop in - Saturday night. Johnsonic may join me as well. We'll just drop in and chill out for a few beers. Is it going to be open doors? Can we just stop in for a few beers and chill out?

Awesome! Also, remember brunch is at roymond's house on Sunday (in Brooklyn Heights).

I definitely cannot get out of my Saturday obligation, so I'll be arriving mid-day Sunday and leaving the following day. I'm making motel reservations and lining up a rental car today. I wish I could be there for the first night.

2. no idea. you can always drop a letter to GBM at their myspace if you have any questions.
Ok, I asked them 1. and 2. but the stupid web-filter here at work blocks myspace. I can see that they replied, because I got an email, but I can't see what they said until tonight, unless somebody can suggest some sort of IP tunneling or whatever

Okay, the practice room is a space above GBM, not owned by GBM. You can give the guy a call, if you want. (six four six) three eight two zero eight four five
I just got back to the states last night and have a bit of rehearsing to do before Saturday, but yes I'll try and do as much of Cable Beach as I can pull off, some stuff from Gray Rainbow (which I never finished in time to submit), and other assorted ditties. I live a few minutes from the venue so I can bring as much of my one-man-band arsenal as possible.
