hahah cool, that looks decidedly random. Unfortunately any similarities between the lyrical content and the movie are all coincidental I'm afraid. It looks worth a watch nonetheless, Bruce Campbell is a legend.

Poor June - Yeah, this is really good!! Your wordsmith is not to be trifled with!! Layne Staley, it reminds me of. Nice Job, bub!! 16 stars!!!

The Likely Lads - You guys are nuts!! But I love it. Tell me, it it really only one guy???? Anyway, I like the counterpoint in the chourus. You have a fan here. Have a good 2005. 15 and 17/18 stars

Luke Henley - Are you trying to do harmonies? God, this really makes me miss grunge music. Maybe it's my age, or my massive biceps, but I just don't get the lyrical theme. The "backing track" as it were, however, isn't bad. I look forward to your future releases. 15.28266437 stars

Carol Cleveland Sings - Seriously, I have loved you guys for at least 6 months. Which is about as long as I've been lurking. What is that one instrument? Has anyone else asked that?? FUCK THIS IS A GOOD FIGHT!!! Carol Cleveland, the real preson, is pretty hot. 18.00 stars

Historyman - Hmmmm. Yeah... Ok, we'll collab soon, and I will correct your mistakes. 15 stars

David 'Over - I am not really sure what to call this type of music. Wait, I started out on the wrong foot. It's always polite to start with a positive. I Like the vocals, for whatever reason. God, the thing is I can see what you were going for... 12 and 16/18 stars

Level Nivelo - Best name ever!! I love that James Bond villain. What movie was that, Moonraker??? This sounds exactly what I would expect Level Nivelo to sound like. One part Barney Miller theme with 12/8 the Chimpmunks. I mean that in a good way. The extra vocal stylings are a god touch. 16 7/3 stars

Leablit - Yeah, I'm not feelin it. But Yaweh loves you. -83 stars

Ice Weasels Nice name. Bitchin song. You guys will be around when the rest of us have colostomy bagz. Rock on. 14 3/8 stars

Hey thanks for the kind words.. there's actually two of us on this recording, myself and Gareth (gduncan), I played the drums, some guitar and did lead vocals in the chorus while gareth did the bass, guitar, harmonies and the verse vocal. Happy new Year!

you're welcome!

It seems hit and miss with laying down drum tracks to finished music... sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. The Hip Cola and I have been discussing this very thing lately!! Anway, this time, it worked like a charm!
I'm surprised by the few reviewers who say they "didn't feel it". You may not dig the sound or ideas or style, but there's no denying the feel and vibe that this tune has. It was a total pleasure, and there were many worthy tunes this fight, we just happened to play the one that got more votes ... so yeah us! Finishing the year with a win is pretty cool....

Sorry, I was out of town for 8 days and have been trying to get my life back on track.

Anyways, I really dug some of the songs that week.

carol: I voted for this. The melody reminded me of something but I can't recall what. This song displays a lot of talent and I really like all the textures and ecentricities (sp). I really liked it. It reminded me of maybe a female pink floyd. It rawked my world and I loved it. Don't change a thing. I wish I had more to say but it's just lovely and I can't think of anything else to mention.

David: This isn't bad. It didn't leap out at me. I think the future will be good to you. This sort of reminded me of somebody's world of screens blended with Jipper's 'thats the spirit'. This is good stuff and full of life but to me just a little lacking something. Not crazy about the lyrics I guess. Not bad though. Look forward to more listenable music like this in the future.

History: No sir, didn't like it.

IceWeasels: The guys who gave us a run for our money. Well, I can see why this came in a strong second. It has a really nice vibe or atmosphere to it. It's comfortable and sweet sounding. I like the chorus melody as a hook. I catch myself anticipating it and then relieved when I finally hear it as I sing along. The bass or the mid tonned keys kind of drone after a while. It helps keep the song moving along but it might have changed up a little bit more. Or mixed down a little...it's an important part of the way it chugs along. Thanks for such a good song this week.

Leablit: People have always said that a real drummer would improve my sound. They of course were right. I can't have a drummer every week nor would I want to anyways. Leaf did an EXCELLENT job in bringing this song to life. I had the structure and melodies all worked out..but my inspiration started to fizzle...but just then i got his drums downloaded and it breathed new life into me and this song. We brought the RAWK... and we brought it strong! wooo hooo... ouch..ouch...my arm... just twisted my arm patting myself on the back. Leaf, u da man!

LevelN: Another decent song for this particular week. The vocals are a little on the weak side but I don't mind. I like the whole composition as a whole. It's quarky and fun and I like the way it comes together...almost like a tmbg's song. Reminds me of something that they'da put on Lincoln. Good work.

LikelyLads: I expected this one to win. This is probably my third favorite. You guys have an almost southern rock sound to this one. I liked it. I like the simple guitar with a little of overdrive. It's gritty yet pretty. Almost an early Jackson Browne crossed with that southern rock I mentioned earlier. Sounds a little bit more sophisticated than your typical southern rock. Overall this is a good song and was suprised to not see it take the gold.

Don's Brother: Whereas I can get into the 'tenderness' of this piece I'm not completely sold. I think some of the performance isn't quite as tight as it could be. A little more practice and this could have really been a contender for my heart. The harmonies are not in sync and it takes away from hearing the actual lyrics. Which again, is where most of that tenderness is coming from. Not sure the piano is in tune with the guitars.

PJ: I wish I could play piano. I can barely play guitars. The piano is the showcase here. Good work on that. Obviously the vocals need a little help here. I think they needed a little reverb and to be mixed back a little further. Not to 'cover them up' but to make them blend a little. They are way up front and maybe they could use a softer touch considering the bed they are lying in. The arrangement is very pretty. Keep practicing that singing while you're in the shower, car, cleaning the house. The more you use it and blend it with music the more control you will gain over it.

Good fight ya'll. Again, sorry about the delayed reviews. Consider it a late Christmas present if you will...like that one last thing you got after you thought it was all over.

I'd be interested to know if they fightmasters were aware of this poem and if anyone referenced the poem in their songs. I just happened to come across this tonight while procrastinating.
