"Headbanger"

The winds are changing
The forecast is bleak
The fortune teller says
It's time to go
This world's decaying
Death's nipping at our heels
The prisoners are shaking
Down the foundation walls

We had the cure
We've lost the means
The Not Man's on the TV
Turning the public
What good is the riches
If the cities are crumbling
The ship is sinking
There's only one way to go

Calling for an invasion
Running through the doors
We're gonna rock their world
Salvation taken by force

We've tapped the vein
For all we could
Outside my window
Burns an effigy
We didn't make a miracle
Only a band aid
We took all we could
Then left it to bleed

They're shouting from their cells
"Let us go home"
But the lifeboat's only for
The chosen few
And I don't give a damn
About your supplication
I'm taking it all with me
When I go

Calling for an invasion
Running through the doors
We're gonna rock their world
Salvation taken by force

Calling for an invasion
Running through the doors
We're gonna rock their world
Salvation taken by force

Notes:
The plague storms are growing in force and Duenna Inc foresees the world's doom and decide that the best thing to do is escape. Led by Dr Q, Duenna Inc plans to go through the portal and take over NYC.

If you still need, I am happy to contribute. If you're covered, that's coo, too.

And me, if you need the help. Actually I would love to see what the Ross'n'Johnny band could bring to the mix, but willing to help out with anyone else who is signed up. raring to go. I like 'Near Death Experience' and 'audience' particularly but happy to help out on any.

I know you're not terribly fond of my latest "singing" style, but just wanted to reiterate my in-ness and availability for this project.

"Critical Condition"

Gates tumble like dominoes
Guards raise angry fists
The borders are breached
The cell doors blown open
There's blood in the hallways
The clouds are approaching
Grimaces of terror
This is our doomsday

Everything is torn asunder
No one here gets out alive
Critical condition
Time for the endgame

Alarms are blaring
The compound is burning
The sting of karma
Revenge is in their eyes
Media coverage
Wide scale destructlion
They try to escape
The Door will not open

Everything is torn asunder
No one here gets out alive
Critical condition
Time for the endgame

There is no hope for the hopeless
This is where the life gives way
An eye is taken for an eye
A goddess comes and cleans the slate
This is when all is lost
False idols are brought to their knees
The world takes its last breath
A goddess comes and washes it clean

Notes:
The Not-Man leads a revolution to destroy Duenna. Dr. Q attempts to escape but cannot. The final battle occurs. The world they live in is decimated.

"The Aftermath"

There's no turning back
What's done is done
Ten days of black rain
Left not a trace of blood
I stand before a wasteland
The shadow of a city
I shed a tear
This is all the home I have

Welcome to a brave new world
Picking up the pieces
Wandering through
This valley of lost souls

I don't hear Her voice
And all the clouds are gone
She abandoned us here
In an empty world
And the revenge
That tasted so sweet
Has left us in the unknown
Without nothing to call home

Welcome to a brave new world
Picking up the pieces
Wandering through
This valley of lost souls

We lived through hell
The nightmares of this place
We won the war
But found no prize or glory
A future without direction
All who survived all lost
How do we make this home?
How do we make this home?!

Welcome to a brave new world
Picking up the pieces
Wandering through
This valley of lost souls

Notes:
The Goddess succeeds in destroying the world and those who brought Duenna Inc. down find themselves the only survivors, trapped in a wasteland.

There we go,

All 12 songs of the NPCA are written. The ending is not a cheery one but it leaves things open. Now it's all about the production. I've already sent out assignments for all the songs except "Critical Condition" and "Aftermath" and I already have ideas on who to assign those too.

Now, I have to figure out how best to present the concept album. From the get-go, I mentioned my dreams of a multimedia presentation. So now is the time I need to think about how to best present the album and get the story across.

I can also help with an album cover. I like stuff like that. Give me an idea of what you like, and I'll put together a few as a starting point to see where you want to go with it.

It's progress report time. How is everyone doing on their songs?

I've got mine fully recorded and just using the time to make detail adjustments. I'm trying to decide on how I want the back up vocals done. I've already recorded and mixed the bu vox, but I might want a grander overall sound. Other than that, it's in the can and I think I grabbed your character's state of mind.....or your character grabbed mine, one or the other.

With Lee of Ziplee in town we had a Zinkline style session. I got 80 minutes of awesome riffs and Prisoner fills. Filtering through that for the keepers, perhaps constructing a a structure for Lunk to run with. Martyr is on board for vocals, I'd kind of like to get several voices on the track.

Side note: Not only does Dust Pipe have a song called High Speed Chase, but we called that album "High Speed Chase".

I'm kind of back at the drawing board. Recorded a lot of music for one idea, but I don't think it's up to snuff. Planning to take another approach this weekend. By the way, when are you expecting to have all the songs complete? Deadlines always motivate me.

I have a little gone beyond that - but still nothing actually concrete produced. Not much time, as I discovered with my "Fog" entry - first time I have ever entered a song that was not actually finished.

But this is now top of the list

Ross wrote:Shit! Is there a deadline?
I never did put a deadline, but I have heard from a couple of people that I should make one, just so it doesn't slide too far back on people's plates and Glennny did remind me that I will be very busy in February. So let's shoot for the first day of 2008. That'll give me a month to perfect the presentation before I have to put the creative juices towards FAWM.
