I'm in. First time I also recorded a German version, but submitted the English one.
And, Paco... it's got that little Scorpions sting you demanded. :D

Lyrics are written, music is in my head and is easily transferred to my fingers, so I'll quite likely be in for this one.

Yeah, do it. Get up the best product you can in the time alloted. That's the challenge.

I discovered after I layed the rhythm, bass, and lead guitars that I probably should've done the whole song about a key and a half up, because the vocal part is currently at the very bottom of my (limited) range. Why didn't I notice that before? Oh well, too late to change it. And everyone's been so nice about my previous sub-par entries that I hate to disappoint once I get something written.
Thanks.
I almost lost my voice yesterday, which was Australia Day.
Australia Day = drinking/yelling/sleeping on a cold floor, and no singing for me.
..time to improvise guitar over what was meant to be a backing track for vocals.

As for you, I'd recomment (as other people have said) pitch shifting either your melody tracks up or your vocal tracks down, without a change in tempo.

My last couple of weeks have been pretty nuts. At least my boss isn't shipping out my job...

My fourth attempt at LMALBM resulted in a completed song. If I get it recorded tonight, I'm in.

The third attempt was so bad, my wife gave me advice. My wife never gives me songwriting advice. She said, "the problem is that you're trying to write something other than what the song should be, you should write me a love song." I almost never write her love songs; last October a friend of mine challenged me to write a love song (since it's been so long since I've written one). Now I've killed two birds with one stone.

So, if I'm in, and I post the lyrics, prepare to gag from the sweetness.

Oh my god, what have I done? My entry is ridiculous. Well, at least I have an entry. Will be submitted later tonight when I get a chance to mix.

Maybe it's going to be kind of a tribute. :D

I'm done but for some minor tweaking. I tried to mix my vocals louder due to popular demand, although self consciousness probably kept them a little too low still. For those who thought the bass was mixed too loud in my last song, I don't know what to tell you. I was jamming like Paul McCartney in Rain on this one, and want to hear it.

Recorded and submitted! Hope y'all like banjo.

I am especially proud of the line:
"If I lusted after women at the DAR hall I would have run when I heard your name."

OK, I'm sent.

Guaranteed you won't think my vocals are too loud, unless you hate my voice and wish I sent in instrumentals. On the other hand, the geetar sounds too loud to me this time, but it tis what it tis.

Lyrics are super sweet, tell yer girlfriend you wrote em for her and she'll love you 4eva!

I'm out. The time that I would have spent working on this song was instead taken up by getting my first HDTV and watching stuff on it. I regret nothing.

Had an unexpected half day at work. Used the extra time to finish vocals.

Pending approval from my collaborators on our band name, I'll have mine in before going to bed tonight.

Yay!

Bah.

I beat my head against the wall all week on this one. I had a great concept, I had acceptable lyrics, I had a few good progressions...and it never gelled together into a cohesive whole. I'm out.

However, after reading all the prefight hype, I'm looking forward to this fight's entries.

Lord of Oats wrote:I had this idea: the Rone Rivendale Challenge.
When I read this Saturday night, I was kind of drunk and didn't actually finish reading beyond this line and I was like: I'm way ahead of you, man. But what I did was record my song like it was a Rone song instead of record his song like it was one of my songs. It isn't completely authentic, since it doesn't feature mic pops, but it shares similarities, I think. I'm going to submit it instead of the version of my song I was originally going to go with.

I did make two versions of Rone's song though after I realized what the challenge actually was and I might submit one. Or both. But I'm not sure I'd take credit for making them, if it isn't obvious they were done by me, which it probably is.

After spending my day fighting with GarageBand and Reaper, I'm not in. Maybe next week I won't procrastinate.

EDIT: Audacity came to the rescue. Not the best mix and the vocals are weak but hopefully you won't hold that against me.
