What are the numbers?

Will the timetable change?

Round 1: 25 bands, 5 eliminations
Round 2: 20 bands, 5 eliminations
Round 3: 15 bands, 4 eliminations
Round 4: 11 bands, 4 eliminations
Round 5: 7 bands, 3 eliminations
Round 6: 4 bands, 2 eliminations

I did submit, but I was going on Midnight CDT instead of EDT. If I didn't make it in time, that's the price I pay. If I did, then be gentle, it's my first time.

I'm in (last night). Sorry. I didn't know there was tradition going on. I'm still considered new here right?

I'm happy to let the Wage man in.

The times threw me out a bit too. I thought I had another day to go. Luckily I am currently ungainfully unemployed, so I had a spare Monday morning to kill to finish off.

I of course have no actual butt-saving powers you realise.

So, obviously CR got this time stuff figured out, but just to avoid future confusion - and to add some drama to the proceedings - could we have a count-down clock on the Nur Ein website, Niv?

Now I know its midnight Sunday its ok

Maybe the time should have been 11:59 Sunday. Or 12:01 Monday. It was just that 12:00am thing that threw me:

While computers and digital clocks display "12:00 a.m." and "12:00 p.m.", those notations provide no clear and unambiguous way to distinguish between midnight and noon. It is actually improper to use "a.m." and "p.m." when referring to 12:00. The abbreviation a.m. stands for ante meridiem or before noon and p.m. stands for post meridiem or after noon. Since noon and midnight are neither after noon nor before noon, neither abbreviation is correct (although the length of the error is determined by the smallest unit of time — 12:00:01 p.m. would be correctly notated). Similarly, midnight is both twelve hours before as well as twelve hours after noon, so both are ambiguous as to the date intended.

@wages- you're in. It's round zero & we're a little more lenient during that one.
@caravan ray- it looks like there may be a change in the amounts of eliminations per round. I'll announce it if/when its official.
@noah- if you've got the html for it, I'll put one on.
@everyone- I'm currently in transit so I can't fix the server error yet. I know everyone is patiently waiting. In the meantime, why don't you check out nurein.songfight.net . Sure, it's not 100% finished but you can look back at the previous Nur Eins. PS- it may look like a wiki but it's not open for editing like one. But if for some unforeseen reason you find yourself able to edit something...don't.

Luckily someone convinced me the due in time was Sunday at 10 am, so I got mine in at around 8:30 pm with plenty of time to day dream about puppies and rainbows. :P

I have created a page with all the songs except for Adam Adamant's which Niv forgot to attach when he emailed the jurors. Is it customary to post the list so you can all listen at the same time as the judges? I forget.

I think that's how it worked before. In any case here is a link to my song for the benefit of the judges and anyone else curious and impatient :)

Thanks for the link, Adam.

Here's the page: Sorry if it's crude. We'll have to wait for Niv for the real thing. In the meanwhile, enjoy the songs.

1) Niv, here's an example of a very handy tool. You can fiddle with it here : http://www.7is7.com/otto/countdclock.html

2) Just starting listening. Thank you Spud for the quick work. It's not the best way to start off something so aggressive as Nur Ein, but my apologies to everyone for missing that note in the last chorus. Oi.

It's not that big a deal but my name is spelled wrong. Not sure if I did that when I emailed it in. Thanks for putting the songs up. Can't wait to hear them.

Thanks for putting up that page, Spud. Round Zero is the no frills Nur Ein round, so crude is perfect. Next round will be more fancy with pictures and whatnot (I also wont be the midst of traveling between NY & DC).

No word from Jonathan Mann? He wrote a "Time to Panic" and posted a video for it on YouTube, so I figured he'd enter.

Dunno where the typo came from, it was there when I got it. Anyway, fixed now.

HEY! I'm a trend setter.

Come, my tan-faced SF'ers,
Follow well in order, get your instruments ready;
Have you your digital audio workstations? have you your well tuned axes? BLT! O BLT! :P

After my first listen to the songs. What a great bunch of music.

My early predictions. If Minty can stay in that zone and get his entries in, I see him making it to the top 5, at least.

Wow! I can't believe all the production some of you guys put into this. I guess I need to spend more time on that side. I hear my song in my head as a heavy punk, frantic kinda feeling. But only had to get a basic acoustic/vocal down. This should be fun!
