Two minor points: the bass instrument is a cello, and in fact the song is played with a click. I wonder what made you think otherwise?
Yeah, I always forget how low a cello can go.
As far as the click goes, I was trying to pay you a compliment. When I listen to it there seems to be tension and release not only in chords, volume dynamics, but in being ahead and behind the beat as well. I busted out my tap tempo and locked in to the cello. I'm pretty sure if there is a tempo it's 90 bpm. When I restarted the song with 90 bpm click, there seemed to be dramatic pauses that threw off the beat. Maybe I just had the wrong bpm. In any case this song has very high replay value. I haven't liked it any less on these repeated listens.
You're close; it's 89bpm. The cello, being sequenced, is the only instrument right on the grid. The piano wanders a bit because I was really feeling it, and the Mellotron wanders a bit because (from what I could gather) it was very difficult to play.

Anyway, I definitely didn't mean to imply that I took your misreading as an accusation. I definitely read it as a compliment. I'm just hoping to identify the qualities that made it sound so loose, so that I might attempt to bottle that lightning again! :)

Anyway, now I'm just keeping an old review thread afloat. Thanks for the comments!

That's me, stirrin' the pot!
BTW Why isn't anybody posting their chord patterns to the Chord pattern archive? Because it doesn't exist?
Now that would be excellent.

BTW: I really dig Love & Rockets but most of the music was tik. He might be too! They did an awesome concert to support their last album, Lift. Definitely a high point.
