Yeah, I was supposed to be the second coming, but little did the heaven aliens know, I'm easily distracted. If my life was a movie, everyone would be watching in suspense every time I'm just about ready to walk over to the big rock with "meaning of life crystals" under it and a big sign that says "look under me" and I slowly read it out loud to myself and start lifting up my feet and looking at the bottom of my shoes with a bewildered expression on my face. But then I see a butterfly go by and I start chasing it flailing my arms about giggling and saying, come here birdie, I just want to pet you. The audience sighs and the heaven aliens smack their foreheads except one of them with a big smile as he counts his winnings.

.....and scene.

Oh, thanks for the B-day wishes, Sirs. I'd like to give you all a.........
........wait, what's that? yay, come here birdie, I just want to pet youuuuu..... Image

I have a birthday coming up this Sunday. (Jan 4th)

Gotta love the birthdays that are close to Christmas. Nothing like that to make birthdays always kind of suck when you're little. (At least when you're one of 5 children. Had I been an only child or had some wealthy extended family my opinion may have been different.)

I feel for BLT. At least my birthday wasn't actually on Christmas. My birthday was just far enough away that I didn't quite always have school until after my birthday.

I think this is one of the reasons I favor celebrating Conception Day. -- Besides, births tend to be a lot more painful than conceptions. Typically everyone was having a good time during the conception.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I had a good birthday, nice and quiet -- just hangin' with the family.

@BLT: I like to think I'm sufficiently goofy. There's a lot of competition on that front here, though, so we'll see how it pans out.

Gracias, gentlemen.

BLT: :D nice pic, although I'll admit I had to look up "philopatric." Don't think I'll ever be able to play that on a Scrabble board, though, perhaps I'll be able to play the subanagrams CAPTOPRIL or PICTORIAL.

Happy B'day Albatross.

And no, you will never play philopatric in Scrabble. But you could totally pull off Philopatry.

I know how smart you are with words, so I scanned a painful amount of info on the webz about the Albatross to find the perfect word. Then I read that they are "highly philopatric", lol. I thought to myself, there is no way in HELL he'll know what that means. Plus it's meaning has a metaphorical meaning to birthday. It snapped me right out of my information coma and I said, YES! Perfect gift!
