The Dismemberment Plan - Emergency & I

I particularly like the 3rd track on the album.

ROCK!

Dude, this is not something you say out loud. ESPECIALLY YOU.
I'd suggest finding your local Belle & Sebastian Anonymous support group and seeking help - immediately!
I actually know a couple who met on a B&S forum, fell in love and got married.

I meant to say, "I can't stop listening to Belle & Sebastian while I ride upon my demon steed into battle with the Christians". Sorry for the confusion.

Speaking of Christians... I'm really into mewithYou's [A-->B] Life. I adore their lyrics. They are one of the few bands that I can understand almost every word they're singing (mostly screaming really), because the lyrics and music seem to demand each other.

I've been enjoying Giant Sand, who makes an awesome surrogate for C Hack. Where's C Hack been?

I love them funky sounds.
In fact I used to work with Byron in a studio he has in London, England

Hes a cool guy, and an excellent producer

[EDIT] when I say 'with'. I guess I really mean 'for' I did obviously work with and alongside. But he was my Boss. So 'for' is a better word

Someone gave me a $15 iTunes music store gift card over the holidays. I have to say, I am more thrilled by the 14 assorted songs I've bought so far than any one album I've ever gotten as a gift. I have enough credit for one more song, here's what I've bought so far:

Joshua Redman - Soul Dance (Wish)
Joshua Redman - Make Sure You're Sure (Wish)
Joshua Redman - The Deserving Many (Wish)
Black Star - Thieves in the Night (Black Star)
Telefon Tel Aviv - Sound in a Dark Room (Immediate Action #8 EP)
Telefon Tel Aviv - Stolen Moments (Impulsive! Revolutionary Jazz Reworked)
Telefon Tel Aviv - What It Was Will Never Again (Map of What Is Effortless)
Freddie Hubbard - Joy Spring (The Best of Freddie Hubbard)
Freddie Hubbard - Sky Dive (The Best of Freddie Hubbard)
The Cannonball Adderly Quintet - Saudade (Inside Straight)
The Cannonball Adderly Quintet - Del Sasser (Them Dirty Blues)
Israel Kamakawiwo'ole - Somewhere Over The Rainbow / What a Wonderful World (Facing Future)
Jake Shimabukuro - While My Guitar Gently Weeps (Walking Down Rainhill)
Stephane Belmondo - Ma Mere L'Oye (Hymne Au Soleil)

I would appreciate recommendations for the 15th song. I may ignore them, but they will be appreciated either way. Also I found two State Shirt albums, a Frontalot album, ADD, Brad Sucks, and The Spinto Band, which is cool. Although tracks 11, 12 and 13 of The Spinto Band's album "Nice and Nicely Done" were listed as "Untitled" and were only 4 seconds long - what's up with that?

About half of that album is really excellent. It more than makes up for the other mediocre half. One of my favorites. Talib Kweli & Hi-Tek's Reflection Eternal is also very good.

I would appreciate recommendations for the 15th song
Lazyfish & Mewark - Comfortable (this is the only thing I've ever bought on itunes, it's bloody difficult to get hold of, and at 8 mins is excellent value for money - very much in the vein of TTA's blissful fuzziness)

Holy fuck.

I have a good one...

first off, I don't listen to a lot of rap, but ever so often , NWA comes up on the shuffle... so I decide to burn their greatest hits to a cd for the car, and man, this is wicked. I completely ignored NWA when they came out, and it's just awesome as far as I 'm concerned. They tell wicked stories, and the production and grooves have me hooked.

funny part, yesterday while drivin home from work I thought of this cop that's been hassling me for some recreational habits I may or may not have and "fuck the police" comes on and I think of him. I think, "man wouldn't it be funny if he pulled me over, and this tune was blasting out?" Guess what. during the chorus, I pull up a hill and around the corner, to see a long line of vehicles ( for quadra, this is about six) and this SAME cop with his hand in the air. I chicked out and turned it to CBC radio... when I roll up, he's lookin all in my car and says "just checkin for seatbelts", (looks at me, I've clearly got my seatbelt on...) do you have a seatbelt on sir? " (What kinda fuckin question is that, heh... ) I say "yes." as he looks in the back of my car, and then he says "drive safely".

What are the odds of that eh? Man, life is weird.

And NWA are stellar... I didn't realize that CB4 was such a heavy satire of this group... fun, angry, and FUNKY ASS GROOVY AS SHIT.

I was very sad to find out way after the fact that both Derek Bailey and John Balance died before Christmas. So a lot of Derek Bailey and Coil in my house tonight - an unholy collaboration :)

This almost falls into embarrassing territory, but I am totally hooked on 'The Grace' by Dallas Green right now. Dallas Green is the guitarist for alexisonfire, a canadian band which doesn't do anything at all for me, but he did a solo album (I'm not even sure if it's available to buy, but the local radio station has been playing this song a lot) which is totally different than his main band stuff.

I find it strange that someone who sings so beautifully is a guitar player rather than singer in a band.
