You risk exile from Canada otherwise.

The first time I saw Zappa, he played that cover of "Stairway to Heaven" (I think it's on the B'way the Hard Way disc) as an encore.
Best Band You Never Heard In Your Life. Wonderful disc. Also has send-ups of Ravel's Bolero, Sunshine Of Your Love, and Purple Haze.
The Jimmy Swaggart version of Lonesome Cowboy Burt is freaking hysterical.

Well I think that's the general deal with doing prog stuff. The issue is that the shit is usually so complicated musically and so written in the sense of actual notation that it's difficult to translate. Doing YYZ by Rush would be difficult to translate, but I think the trick would be to definitely try. Maybe not in the actual parts, but definitely in the sonic nature....... added stuff perhaps. Maybe trip it out in the remix aspect. I'm looking forward to this.

Okay, is this fight really happening? Because I am -all- about busting out of my cutesy-cute humorous standard songfight fare with a prog cover fantasy. Seriously. I am all up in that.

Minty Handy's wife here - he's away from his computer, so asked me to put in for Genesis' "Supper's Ready" (abridged).

Wow. I clicked that MIDI link, and suddenly I'm playing sonic the hedgehog.
EDIT: Hey, wifey -- sorry, our dinner got delayed by 15min so I decided to check in. But yeah, I haven't even heard it, but I'm gonna do it.
DOUBLE-EDIT: Although, if I end up completely blowing it, I might do an ELO tune as a back-up. But only if I really blow it.

I offered help on guitar and I suppose I could do vocal as well, it's one of Geddy's less clamped testicles songs, I think I could swing it. PM me if you're interested LEAF. I've never done a collab though so you may have to walk me through the process.

only if you promise to do the WHOLE THING (intro included). it really irks me when they play it on the radio and leave off the first minute or so.
even better though (speaking of 'doing the whole thing'), would be for somebody to do all of ELP's 'karn evil 9'

Not to be Rude Dan-O, cause your offer is very appreciated, and I 'm very fond of collabs..but I 'm probably gonna go solo on Tommy. My intention is to see how much of the tune i can pull of ala moi. However, a collab is a grand idea, and perhaps I'll change my tune and pm ya...or maybe we can do another thing. I'm already commited to YYZ with redcar for this thread idea anyway, and I've been itiching to do some "solo" things... so... if I feel like my cover is too narrow and needs another voice, on guitar, whatver, I'll pm ya., otherwise, suffer the agony of Geddy Leaf.

Not rude in the slightest man.

Geddy Leaf, that's the funniest thing I've read in a while.

Someone needs to do a cock-rocking, finger picking, emotional 10 minute solo with
this and sing about the Wizards of Blackmore Swamp...
