realizing nothing is set in stone at this point. also realizing that whatever weekend gets chosen (and that may be venue driven), there will inevitably be a conflict with someone. which hopefully will be kept to a minimum by planning 9 months in advance. :)

but i'll look into august availability.
Start a poll.

I have every intention of being there. Although, it'll be challenging.

I will be out of the country until July 13, so if you don't want me there, you'll have to schedule it in early July. :D

well, i think you're one of the few people who's been to every one. you can't mess up your streak now.

plus, san francisco has a nice baseball park. and mild summer temperatures. :)

yes, i've been to Pac Bell (or whatever they're calling it now) and i had even been to Candelstick before it became a relic (is it still standing?). even if i couldn't see a game, San Francisco is just such a beautiful city. i used to think a lot about moving there in a past life.

I'd like to think that I will be at SFLive no matter where it is. Even if Frankie's there.

Yes, but where are you now? You're not keeping us updated on the event that is your whereabouts.

There's like, two weekends in August that are good for me, and that's the first two. I would really rather not start school and immediately drive two hours to the airport, find a ride from the airport to Santa Cruz, hang out in one city in Southern California for two nights and half a day, etc. I expect anybody else in school may have similar scheduling problems. August bumps really close to school, so, you know, ... there's that.

Late July/Early August is still good for us. (Also, if it falls on July 24th you can all say happy birthday to my mum.) But the earlier we set a date, the cheaper airfare should be. And, uh, cheap airfare is good. :)

I have a lot of friends and a fair number of family in Southern California and was thinking of making a trip all the way down the coast next summer. I'm hoping to continue my educational career here at the University of Idaho next fall and school always seems to start on the last or second-to-last Wednesday of August. I know all of you grown-ups don't have summer vacations, but I'm a college student making $6/hour and I'd really like some flexibility if it's possible and amicable.

Yeah, Jack, it's not very nice that you posted a picture from "field of dreams" after I said something about how August works for me, after a bunch of people said they'd prefer August and July doesn't work. You singled me out and didn't do anything like that to anybody else. All this considering I had to miss last year's. If you don't want to hear what days work for me then, please, tell me, and I'll quit talking about it and leave everything in your hands. But I wish you'd just come out and say it, instead of implicit condescension.

So, the dates 'possible' are: July 1-2, 8-9, 15-16, 22-23, 29-30, August 5-6, 12-13, 19-20.

Before we decide on a date, it'd probably be best for Jack to contact a/the venue and see what dates are available, and what dates he's available. Then just start a post with what dates people defintiely can't come on and wiggle it around afterwards to see what would please most people. This would stop the "X totally doesn't work for me" "Y is amazing" "I want to see Z so only Y will work" "I don't want to see W so X totally works"

seriously though, Y is amazing.
