I do not like this idea. People who do less work overall get more benefit. That seems to almost force people into collabing. Please start a different contest if you want to have this be part of something.

Can we stop trying to change the contest that Niveous eloquently outlined? That was the contest I was signing up for.

This competition is called the NUR EIN. The title means Only One. Collaborations belie the idea of only one. Even though this is a reality tv gameshow concept, I would ask that the players of the NUR EIN refrain from collaboration. Jim's scenario sounds good. C. Ray's scenario sounds likely. Both would take away from the game's appeal. We don't want to reach the end of the NUR EIN and have to hear a lengthy speech on rats and snakes, do we?

Do understand that bands are of course allowed but they must be signed up as a single entity from the game's off-set. An example- Bjam and Steuym are both currently signed up as solo artists. An entry by Raw Strength and Courage would not be allowed. But if Spud and Glenn Case decided to sign up together and be A Case of Octothorpe throughout the entire run of the NUR EIN, that would be okay. A solo entry from either once they signed up as a band would not be.

I hope that clarifies the issue.

Now where are my other entrants, there are still more than 10 remaining slots?

OK, so maybe not so great an idea. Never mind.

Over 24 Hours without a new entrant. Someone gather the troops.

I will suggest that you set a deadline, and then send out pms to people who you think are really cool and personally invite them to be in the thing. I think there's like 14 people in it, yes? One more would be 15, and that would be enough to get things going. In the event that the numbers don't get up to 25, recalibrate the vote-off numbers and continue on your merry way.

Niv,
You could set a deadline for entries, or PM / email people who might have forgotten, or missed it...
Or perhaps open it up to those at the stalwart Tapegerm... A cross looped polination stylie thing might work.

Erik is very wise. That flash of brilliance makes him odds on favorite to win the Nur Ein according to Vegas oddsmakers.

I think I'm gonna send out some PMs.

Oh oh oh....
Good luck to all the Nur Ein Contestants (NECs) and all those who have yet to volunteer! This is going to be sweet!

Rachael and I have bought our first house.

We are in the process of dealing with mountains of paperwork, packing up belongings, etc. There's no guarantee that the bottom won't drop out at the last moment, but it's looking VERY positive right now.

We are excited, of course, and the GOOD news is that I am going to have my own music area to record in. No more pissing off neighbors with odd recording hours.

I am more unreliable than usual due to this madness, but I will tenatively join this crazy sidefight, with the understanding that I may become disqualified if I can't finish a song in time due to too many things going on. If that happens? It happens.

If this whole thing starts around the middle of March then I should already be set up in the new place. I am unlikely to miss a deadline once everything is squared away. I am actually likely to catch up on a few deadlines that are LONG overdue. (SERIOUSLY SORRY to those who have been waiting on me to get things done recently.)

ROCK!

What's in the pot.

If someone wins the NUR EIN, he or she will gain the people's ovation and fame forever. Every battle, reputations are on the line in the Nur Ein, where master musicians pit their artistic creations against each other. What inspiration will the contestants bring? And how will the Jury rate their songs? The heat will be on!

Phunt will step into the ring. This is mostly just to help you fill up the empty spaces, since we very likely won't last past round 1 (what with the balanced jury).

Alternatively, I'd like to sit on the jury, but that appears to be a big no-no.
