I get most of this, but what the heck is Halo?

ps i agree with c hack's last post. like when my football team lost right after my brother-in-law died in a train accident. it really didn't compare whatsoever in total badness, but it was that much worse because i was looking for something positive in my life at that moment.

now that i think about it, that has nothing to do with what c hack was saying. don't know why i felt like i had to say that. anyway.
let me get back to the thread topic:
two things i don't get at all:
hospital tv shows
courtroom drama books

Wow, this thread is great.
I also don't get why Josh Woodward is so damn popular. I'm starting to think it's all those people in the coffee shop voting for him, though, and coffee shop crowds are like little sheep. You give them a latte and strum a few chords on an acoustic guitar and they think you are the coolest thing since sliced bread.
Also, Songfight.

Cricket! Are you just trying to pick a fight?! My Keith Miller avatar would kick your skinny, Canadian, ice-hockey playing arse (or ass if you prefer).Leaf wrote:Football.

As far as football goes - it depends what you mean. Soccer (known down here as the "Sheilas, Wogs and Pooftas Game"), that American travesty or, worst of all, Australian Rules Football - I agree completely.
But the noble Rugby codes - that's a different matter. Rugby League man myself, but I always have time for the 15-a-side boys too.
There is no prettier site in the world of sport than to see 16 fit young men, crouched over, buttocks parted forming that 32-legged wonder that is the rugby scrum....
Oh, and whoever said PINK FLOYD - Hallelujah brother - I know what you're sayin.

Halo is a first-person shooter video game. It was heralded by many because you could play LAN (network) games with many players at once, but for someone who comes from a LAN party background with computers and far better games (CounterStrike, Day of Defeat, Quake 3 Arena, Unreal Tournament 2004), it's amazingly underwhelming.
Also: Many before you have tried to convince me that Mitch Hedberg is funny, and many will follow you. It is like trying to convince me that Home Movies is more worth my time than getting punched in the face. It will not work.

Seconded but you missed the "Hey check out my song on this website and vote for me" part to close the show.Future Boy wrote:Wow, this thread is great.

I never played multiplayer Halo. I loved it because killing Covenants is FUN. And it's pretty.john m wrote:Halo is a first-person shooter video game. Sorry JB, I'm losing focus now. Let's see what I stir up with this. Referencing my last comment about homophobes, why would a person declaring themself to be a hetrosexual be bothered by a homosexual? I really don't get that. It's a little off topic because this is supposed to be about what everyone gets and I don't get and this is more of a probable 50/50 split topic, but I'll go here anyway. Let's see what happens........

ok here is something i don't get... but i still find to be funny. that commercial that's on tv nowadays for whatever it is that it's advertising.. where all those people are in the elevator and they are saying that guy's name ("roy" or something) to the tune of the beginning of that song... all like, "ROY! roy roy ROY!" i hope somebody out there knows what commercial i'm talking about because i dont' know how else to explain it and i can't remember what it was for or anything. but it's hilarious anyway.jb wrote:(But "Eye of the Tiger" was a good song. What'd Survivor ever do to you.)
