It is true. I missed it. I've been living in a box.
Belated congrats to John and Dorie!
... Well, it isn't a box, so much as a rectangular building...

Poppetshuw's entry links to
http://www.songfight.org/none
If Poppetshuw didn't submit something, why are they listed at all? If the file has been lost, it would be nicer to have a link to a note about it on the page instead of a broken link.
Oh, and that "none" link doesn't actually work, so in the very least it should point to a valid page.

It's been discussed. What difference does it make if you have a broken link or a link to something that tells you the link is broken?

One looks like a mistake.

I'm surprised it has been discussed twice.
I am reminded that it should link to a page saying, "This song is lost, if you have it, please let us know!"
Broken links make a site look less professional. It also increases maintenance overhead by
not having a link to a real page. I'm the third person who has noticed the bad link. Until there's actually a notice that the file is missing, I will surely not be the last.
Each time someone notices the broken link, someone -- on two separate occasions an admin -- had to post saying that the song was lost. Each post eats in to time that could be spent making awesome music.
Thus, there would be more awesome music if the link pointed to a real page.

This is not a professional site.

Is Charcoal's missing song from the Need Stilts fight a known issue?
It points to
http://www.songfight.org/music/need_sti ... stilts.mp3 but it gets a 404.
Silver Rush, in the same fight, also throws a 404.
It points to
http://www.songfight.org/music/need_sti ... stilts.mp3
FIXED

The files should be music/need_stilts/blahblah_needstilts.mp3 - looks like the link is wrong in the archive database.

Crap. It's just a typo? I thought that Fightmasters had simply "lost" the file, thus sparing people from hearing probably the worst song I've ever written.

What's the deal with the entries for Elastic Plastic Fantastic, and for Model Band, in the "Highway" fight? They both have the same link:
http://www.songfight.org/songpage.php?key=highway
http://www.songfight.org/music/highway/ ... ighway.mp3
This seems highly unusual. (Not to mentione mildly annoying for someone who assumed that the URLs for every entry would be unique...)

That's pretty strange, yeah. It looks like they were collaborating on a single entry and both entered with the same file, or something.

When I listened to it, it sounded kind of "G'n'G" to me, so I thought the collaboration angle was maybe less likely. I don't know. It sure would be great if there were two copies of that mp3, with different names, that matched the names of the entrants separately.

I suspect that it is one band: Elastic Plastic Fantastic Model Band, thus epfmb-highway.mp3
This assumption is born out by the error in alphabetic order if Model Band stands alone.
I think I will consolidate them.
BTW, Sam, although the url for every song should be unique, I am sure that you have figured out that the filename may not be. It is quite possible for two fights to have the same acronym and be entered by the same band.

Awesome, thanks for that detective work, Spud. Consolidating them sounds great.
(I did notice that about the file names.)

Is there supposed to be a comma at the end of "Paco del Stinko" for this fight? FIXED

Maybe. There's one Paco-comma entry in the archive. FIXED

I couldn't get the streams to work for Bad Attraction or Need Stilts. Is it my computer error or something wrong with the streams?

They look OK to me. What are you using to play those playlists? Perhaps your program doesn't like the "+" characters in some of the URLs or something. I don't really see anything unusual in those playlists, though.

As a test of that theory, try
this playlist instead.

Fluffy, I tried it and still I'm getting an error message.
