The packedness of the house is an open question. I have observed that EVERYONE who shows up for open mic is a performer. There is no one there to just listen. However, we may have the same issue, with the six or more bands playing. We will promote with posters, but I'm not going to go out of my way to dig up a huge audience, as it is a relatively small venue.

On another note, I am pretty sure I picked up a songfight! recruit last night. Look for 32 bands in the next fight, instead of just 31.

Of course there will be member sharing between bands. Heck, 2/3 of Sockpuppet is also in Octothorpe, and the remaining 1/3 may or may not exist.

On that note: who wants to drum for me? Please don't make me beatbox with a loop pedal. I'm not very good at it.

I'm in a similar-but-different situation as fluffy: I potentially have a full band lined up for the Seattle night. I have 2/3rds + some complex Hilbert Space of a full roster. Because I am not a gambling man, it's high time I recruited a backup bassist. Is anyone out there interested? As mentioned, it would just be the Seattle show, and I will be keeping the songs simple. If you saw Mostly Harmless at SF Santa Cruz, don't be scared: I won't make you play that.

How good a bassist do you need? I might be able to satisfy your needs.

I could play bass for you, too, if you want. I'd love to try to learn that riff that Glenn learned, also, but probably a couple weeks wouldn't be enough time for me to do it...

Hey Spud,

Will there be some rehearsal time/space available in Seattle before the show?

Unable to open these PDFs for some reason. Is it just me?

"Unsupported version or corrupt file" is the Acrobat message.

Octothorpe and Sockpuppet played the venue's open mic again tonight. Can't speak for Sockpuppet, because we had to leave due to having a minor (Spudnut) with us, but Octothorpe shined. fluffy was great on bongos, Crash played the roll-up keyboard, Mad Dog delivered with style, and I had a great time playing my new bass out in the middle of the crowd. We sounded like a god-damned band. Also put up posters on the front window and in both bathrooms. I am really psyched about this tour!

fluffy played I LOVE YOU, Paper Cuts, and Bad Cat, and the crowd, although small by that point, was appreciative. fluffy was backed up by that cool dude on the bongos who was also helping out during the # performance. It was a'ight.

Also I think I have a set list together for those of you who need to be in the know. I will send it shortly.

Everything is on track for the San Francisco show. The Hand Puppets are going to play Julie's tomorrow, so we should be able to shake out most of the technical kinks then. Anyone in the Bay Area is welcome to come by and check us out. We should be playing around 9pm and this is our debut gig....

It's going to be a pretty tight squeeze for our 4 piece (2 guitar, bass, drums), so anything larger than that will need some creative deployment (i.e off-stage spillage). We'll have guitar amps (Vox, Marshall, G&K?), bass amp, drum kit, 3 vocal mics up front, wedge monitors, PA monitors, 16 channel(?) mixer.

I believe somebody is bringing a keyboard of some sort. I'm assuming that folks will bring their own guitars, etc., although if necessary you can use HandPuppet electric guitars/bass.

This is a fully electrified gig. Be loud.

Regarding the Los Angeles show, John Hand Puppet is going to be flying in at the last minute, so it would be best if we were slated to go on later rather than sooner. Kthx.

Yeah, sorry y'all. I would like nothing better than to have at LEAST been there for Portland and Seattle, even just to watch at this point, but the outlook is grim. Too many trips to take this year, and too many time off requests involved.

You might get me as a last minute audience member in Seattle, but I wouldn't count on it.

I hope the whole thing goes really well, and I will absolutely want to see and hear any footage that comes from the tour.

----------------7-----7-5-2-5-----

------------------------------------------
-7-5------5------------------5-4-2-0---
-----5-------5-----------2-5------------
-------7-------7-3---3-5---------------

-------------------------------------
--2---2-4-5-4-2-4-5--5---5--5---
----2-----------------7--7---7--7--

-4-2-----4-2----------------4-2-----------
-----5-2-----5-2---1---1-4-----5-4-------

So help me, I was actually going to ask you for that. And now I don't have to. Gracias!

Sorry we probably won't see you. But we're still doing our Back From Brazil cover, so hopefully there'll be audio and you can at least hear us butcher it.
