I've now got 10 tunes... none recorded to an "acceptable" level, but written nonetheless. Four more to write then I begin re-recording. :)

Incidentally, I now also have to practice "The Good Life" by Weezer for the BAND I just joined/started. Yippie! I hope to nail it by next Sunday, but that seems lofty. Wish me luck!

Well I've officially given up without even getting over the starting line

BTW: Jim - I'd be happy to help out with some of your drinking songs if you'd like. It's a subject I know a little bit about... I even have a bodhrain that I can play badly!

Wow, I can't believe I've even made it this far, eight songs posted! My goal was to beat last year's two and here I am actually on schedule to finish.

Well, I finally did one. The vocals sound like piss since I'm sick, but if the mix turns out to be as good as I thought it was, it's likely to be the best song I've ever made.

I'll post it when I've given it a second listen.

Okay, I have four songs. I've posted three. I started working on a lot of ideas...and abandoned them. Maybe if I finish everything I've started, and I do an AAD, I'll finish.

Gawd, stupid work, health, and social life. Eff that noise.

My first song's finally up!

I was sick of doing nothing for FAWM, so I powered through this one today.

I'm quietly confident (obviously not so quiet since posting this). I'm gonna post two of my better recent ideas up tomorrow and I've got lots of other well developed ideas in the pipeline. Still lots of work to be done though.

!! It is very good. That's a true composition. Bravo!

(Comment not relative to anything else by anyone, as I've only just listened to this one, randomly.)

So I'm nine songs in at FAWM and I've been listening to the Jukebox over there today (I'm home with a sick kid). I'm fairly impressed with the relatively high quality of the songwriting overthere in general. I'm really enjoying it.

Now if I can just get my album finished by Friday :-)

Well, 13 1/2 songs written! I just gotta write music to this intended-to-be-progressive-rock tune I wrote the lyrics for today, and then I start re-recording for better quality or adding additional verses to already-written-songs. Anyone looking to collab, hit me up now. I've got a range of different material available for FAWM. Some are offbeat (Vampire Lover's Lament, The Pencil Song, Me and My Couch Were Born on the Same Day, Coffee & Tacos, etc) and others are a little more serious (Going Into the Light, It's Only Natural, Landmarks, etc). Some would be GREAT hard rock songs and have been well received in demo form from some friends. PM this weekend!

I have written the lyrics for a couple of songs, which brings me up to 8. I was going to spend my Friday and Monday off, interspersed with the weekend, to write the rest and try and record them.

But instead, I was at work on Friday. And now its 2pm on Saturday and.. oh! Look at that! I'm at work! Fuckers.

And I'll probably have to come into work Monday. Great. Gotta try and squeeze six and a half songs out with no time to do it in. Terrific.

I gave up on this fairly early in the piece - but I have actually written 2 songs this month and am close to finishing a third - so I may as well post those to FAWM.

Sausage Boy - if you want to send me one of your unused sets of lyrics - I will attempt to music it for you.

You too Wages. Let me know if you need assistance.

I've got five up there and another 9 almost ready to upload. Current working title of the concept album has changed to 'The Rise And Fall of the Holy Romance Empire'

I can't hang with you 14-and-a-half song FAWMers, but my humble 10-song RPM album is done. It's called Time For Another Round, and demos for all the songs are on my RPM page.

As the 29th nears, it looks like the Niveous album isn't going to make it. But, all the guitar bits that have been given to me will be used for an EP in March. But I have finished writing lyrics for 10 songs for Zinkline. Pretty good but not 14. Does anyone need some last minute lyrics?

How many guitar tracks did ya get? Did you assign everyone the same chords, or did each guitarist get different chords? Just curious. :)

SO I was thinkin gI would submit my FAWM as an RPM also - bu tlooin gat RPM, If I already wrote the songs, I can't see the advantage of mailing a CD of it to total strangers - it seems just a little odd to me that this is the requirement. WHy do they require a CD? What do they do with them? I realize it's not that different than posting a song, but it just gives me slight wigglies.
Thoughts?

Everyone got different chords. And I received 7 (Paco, Caravan, You, King Arthur, Dre, Furrypedro, and LSK)
