yeah, it's cool that you took that position and it was debated over the course of 4 pages. and BF did chirp in at one point to "defend" himself against nothing specific. but when things got specific, he not only shut up really fast, he disappeared. we've given BF every opportunity to speak his side of this and he's chosen not to. he just hangs up on people. enough said.
oh wait, one more thing to say. bryan farrish is a scammer.
oh and one more thing, if anyone else has problems with him, call his office and choose extension 10.
all of this is just my opinion of course.

He does not care about the reputation of his company.
Seriously. Obviously us telling everyone that Bryan Farrish is a scammer does not hurt his business much. If it did he would change the name to "BF Radio Promo" or something and you'd be back at square one.
I am sorry but you are never going to get back the money he scammed you for. Neither is anyone else who falls for Bryan Farrish's scams.
The best you can do is file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and keep warning other people (like you're doing here) that Bryan Farrish is a scammer. And move on.
we'll see what happens.
i believe that simply moving on would make it easier for him to treat other musicians as unprofessionally as he has treated me.

My feeling was that we do NOT have all the facts (one rarely does), and that the open title would encourage people to actually read the thread, rather than assuming that we were just a bunch of assholes who had already made up their minds. Thinking people prefer to read the discussion and then make up their own mind.

I'm not taking Bryan Farrish's side here, but Spud has a point. We don't know Cole's dispute. We don't know anything about it. For all we know Cole is a over demanding a-hole trying to get more than he deserves for his money. (I'm not saying he is... I'm just saying that we don't know any more than what is presented in a Google search)
I can definitely say that Bryan's defense post was full of drivel. He is definitely a spammer if not a scammer. The original copy & paste email he/they sent to me stated that he/they liked my music. This was sent to my Bread Box Studios page and that has more than one band that I've recorded and not nearly all of them. So at first I had no idea where he got that email address. Now I know he harvested it from my website after visiting this forum therefore never listening to MY music. So his first email is nothing but a marketing PLOY. A Come-on. A fishing hook.
I didn't bite so I only have what is offered to me via Google. There isn't much on him in the way of feedback and when I did find more feedback, Cole appeared again on one of those boards too. (Not to insinuate anything either way, just pointing out limited information)
Mostly I read self promotion articles that look like BS. The email, the marketing tactics, and Cole lead me to believe that this Bryan Farrish is a terrible business opportunity. Scam? I don't know. I still think that's still in question. I would
LEAN that way. (see what I did there?)

Thanks, Hoblit, I agree. However, my point was somewhat different.
When I see a thread titled "X is a scam!", I would assume that the jokers posting in the thread have already made up their minds before they even started discussing it. They have created a thread to post their biased opinions. I would be less likely to read this thread, or to think that it has anything to offer other than rants, which in fact, is not the case.
When I see a thread titled "Is X a scam?", I would assume that someone wants to know, and there may be varying opinions in the thread which will help me to make up my mind on whether I think X is a scam or not. I would be more likely to read this thread, since it might provide me with opinions on various sides of an issue, which this thread does.

spud, i appreciate you being objective and patient while affording us the opportunity to discuss the issue at hand.
the details of my dispute are between bryan farrish and me. however, the lack of bryan farrish's professionalism towards me has been well documented in this thread. i did exactly what i was asked to do for over 4 months, which is an absurdly long time for a paying customer, and still have not been given a return phone call.
in addition, bryan farrish has written extensivley about the virtues of a radio promoter who is readily available by phone to radio stations (see spud's post from 8/29 at 2:36). well, what about being available to paying clients? bryan farrish came on this site to refute claims about his company, and ended the post with a number: 310 998 8305. that number does not list an extension to bryan farrish. neither does his web site. none of his employees know his extension (unless they're lying). he doesn't respond to emails, voice messages in the general mailbox, or messages left with his employees. he hangs up on clients.
ultimately, my goal is getting the refund i am entitled to. however, i'd also like to inform other artists about my experience so they can make the best decisions possible.
bleh. it's friday. enough for now.
peace

You must logically come to the conclusion that they are lying. If you were able to obtain his extension and you don't even work there, rest assured THEY know his extension and are instructed not send your calls to it.
This is coming from a man who works for a company that builds small VOIP telephone networks. Its nearly impossible for them not to know his extension. From his own words on another web site, there is only ONE office so they all must work together in close quarters.

so i got a call from the santa monica police department last friday evening.
as of last wednesday, i had been told by one of his employees that messages left for bryan would be listened to so i kept calling.
i still had not received a return phone call by friday afternoon. on friday night, bryan reported me.
the officer listened to my side of the story and quickly chose not to pursue any charges. i made it clear that bryan was instructing his employees to tell me to continue calling, so reporting me felt like entrapment.
the officer suggested that i send a registered letter to bryan's office since he has not returned my phone calls or emails over the last 4 months (despite the insistence of his employees that he would do so). i am sending the letter, and unless bryan chooses to respond here i have no reason to post again until our situation has been resolved.
i appreciate the patience and objectivity of the people on the this thread.
as always, i invite bryan to call me.
peace

A true indie promoter is a non-stop call center, which gives TOP priority to incoming calls. They should have several people available to answer calls; if everyone is still on the phone when the phone rings, someone should HANG UP and answer that incoming call. Remember, incoming calls are top priority... it could be a station, and stations normally only call when they have good news.
Well, obviously Bryan got another call right when Cole finally got through to him.
