OK, so del.icio.us is amazing in and of itself, but now they have this awesome javascript thingy called "Play Tagger". Drag the link there to your bookmarks toolbar, because it is awesome!

"Play Tagger allows you to easily play mp3 files directly on your website or blog. Simply include a tiny javascript, and your mp3 links will automatically become playable right on the page. In addition, your visitors will have the opportunity to easily tag and post the mp3 link to del.icio.us."

this new Aus music site, Jester Punch isn't really that awesome, although it does have reviews for Nerdcore Rising and Beer & Salad Days, so it is redeemed somewhat.

This seems to be heavily left-coastal, but Podbop puts together podcasts of bands that are coming to town in the near future so you can listen and decide what gigs to go to. Pretty cool concept! San Francisco has a lot of play. NYC has none

MyHeritage.Com's face recognition thing is pretty funny. (It's free/no hassle to sign up, and you can probably just BS the e-mail as there's no 'click here to register your account' thing.)

On one photo I 68% look like Elvis Costello, and in another photo I look 73% like Heidi Klum apparently.

Well, not a website, but Songbird is a Web player built from Firefox's browser engine. Songbird is open source, will run on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux and supports user contributed, cross-platform extensions.

It's pretty cool, even in beta.

none of the pictures i have of myself had any matches (although it couldn't even find my face in any of them)...

i tried lots of pictures until finally it identified one... in a picture of the songfight conglomerate band from minnesota last march, it picked out plat (far left) as being possibly hugh grant, or maybe kylie minogue.

Me & the girls love throwing pics into myheritage. I ended up with almost 80% resemblance to George Benson (who I think looks like my dad minus my dad's boombastic jheri curl, hawaiian style shirts and gold chains. That's right, my dad's a pimp or might as well be).

depending on the picture, myheritage.com says i look like adrien brody, theodor herzl, jason biggs (from three different pictures)*, and paul dukas

*which is weird, because there's really not much of a resemblance between us. for some reason everyone tells me i look like cameron frye from "ferris bueller's day off." total strangers have told me this. it's gotten to the point where someone brings up the movie and i just say, "yeah i know, i look like cameron." and then they laugh and say "you do! you must hear that all the time!"

Hee! That's awesome! George Benson was on a flight with me once.

When the program can spot me, (which is a distressingly low percentage of the time... perhaps I am an alien and lack a "human" face?) I apparently look like a number of random blondes or chinese people. (i.e. in one photo, I could be Christina Aguilera or perhaps Bruce Lee.)

their algorithm is interesting, but it does leave something to be desired at this point... assuming they'll improve it over time.
it mostly noticed that i wear glasses and picked people who also wear glasses... er, can't remember who anymore. some dude who looks nothing like me.
