I could accept either way, but i do have a memory of thelternate judge's role being described as to be there if a judge was delinquint or to break ties. Couldn't findthe post, though. Anyone locate that?

Hey, good point. I thought the extra judge was just there in case a normal judge did not get his rankings in on time?
ALL THREE! ALL THREE! ALL THREE!

If the alt judge's votes were included in the tally, would it have affected the rankings? That seems somewhat relevant to me.
Guess we have to do this round over!
On a related note, it'd be cool to see the judge breakdowns for the last couple rounds.

Niveous wrote:... has there ever been a tie like this before in the Nur Ein? The answer is Yes. There was a tie in Nur Ein I. Glenn won the 6th round. Leaf and Calfborg tied for second and we let them both advance. It just happened that Glenn beat them again and thus it raised no eyebrows. This time around Ken (who happened to be the 4th band in that Nur Ein I sixth round) won and the other competitors tied. We had a precedent and followed it. ...
I didn't find the post Ross was looking for, but I did find that one.

Sorry, Priority Mail sucks & it didn't get to me in time. Use PayPal in the future. :p
Honestly I didn't know there was any kind of tie. I don't usually look at the overall totals until Niveous posts them in the (No Comments thread)...and he hasn't. For me it really was close for the top 3. If I had read "Lord Of The Flies" or seen the movie in the past 2 decades...it would have been close for the top 4 spots probably. Today I ranked you 3rd...being so close I wouldn't be shocked if a few days from now I would rank you 2nd or 1st or 4th. Unfortunately Nur Ein doesn't allow much time to reflect on songs. Just get 'em & judge 'em quick. Great song though.

Wow. I am absolutely stunned. But please don't anybody hate me, it's the judges fault, remember?

I say anyone could have won this round, but me. Now it's me against four monster talents banded together as one. Time for bed. Thanks and good luck to all. NUR EIN!!!!!!

David vs. Goliath dude, David vs. Goliath.
In other news, we (or my three other bandmates that I hide behind) are gonna kick your ass.

.
Not sure if Niv added the alt judge into the mix or just used the alt judge's score to break the tie - either way, the result would be exactly the same.
And FWIW - the alt judge was actually the first one to get his scores in, so he was not in any way influenced by the scores of the rest of us. His rankings were up long before any tie situation emerged. So - rest assured - everything was very fair and above board. Of course, it does not excuse the fact that the song I voted top did not get through. The other judges clearly have taste in their arseholes.

edit:
interesting - Paco was the ONLY ONE who did not get a 5 score. And Paco was also the ONLY ONE who did not get a 1 score. So Paco won!
Way to the target the lowest common denominator dude!

My reviews suck, but at least they get in quick. Had I known there would be a tie this round I would have held off on posting them. That's a money makin' opportunity I let slip right through my fingers...

Yeah - blew it big time. Now it is just the final that everyone votes for. If we had have thought about this earlier, we could have made more cash than FIFA and the Pakistani Cricket Team combined. Could have rigged it so BLT made the final - with a nice brand new swimming pool for each judge.

There were 6 judges plus one alternate.
That means Caravan Ray did not list one of the judges.
With the given information.
We can know that the 4th ranking Caravan Ray listed was that of the alternate (Spintown)
The missing judge would therefore have this ranking:
5- Paco
4- WSA
3- Merisan
2- MG
1- Ross
Were the alternate's scores to score rather than just break ties Paco and WSA would be tied at top with 25.

And yes, it was Professor Plum in the conservatory with the candlestick (the same candlestick Caravan Ray later shoves up Glenny's arse)

Oh man - I wasn't expecting my calculations to be audited.
Well, sure - if you just add the numbers together, Paco and WSA would be tied at top with 25. But this judging caper has levels of complexity I don't expect a lay person like yourself to understand. Just trust me, and don't worry your pretty little head about it.
