I watched the whole thing.
I don't mind the negativity. I don't mind the criticism.
It is sad, that he has a total lack of understanding for music. I don't think he understands lyrics either, other than the part where they often rhyme.
If he did things like show examples of how this song reminded him of this other song that would be cool.
Or if he could talk a little music theory, and explain why something is predictable or boring, or give suggestions as to where he would have gone with the melody to make it catchier.
If he had any production notes or insights, that might be interesting and/or helpful.
All I gathered was he liked 2 songs, he was mostly bored, and he can recognize rhymes.

as far as his video goes.

Wow that was tedious! Single angle. Not even a single shot. Lame background. Terrible comedic timing.
I did find it interesting what clips he used from the songs. I liked the font selections. I also liked referring to the title as "the prompt".
So with more angles, better acting, better jokes, some insight into songwriting and/or song production I might vote for this.

NO VOTE, but thanks for the review!

Well, he's not a real music critic in the sense, he's doing a shtick. That would be like asking Seth Meyers from SNL to give you music advice. I mention Seth Meyers because he's basically mimicking/copying that SNL bit, but focusing only on SF in this vid. Popping up an image (band name), run a clip, then make fun of it. This falls under the "it's only funny if it's not about you" category. Although I did laugh at our review. In fact, I like that we could be the background music for MTV cribs, lmao!

Maybe he thinks no one watches SNL and people will think he's a brilliant guy, lol. I'm sure he could give examples of what "he" likes to hear. But I don't think he could give pro tech or music theory. Besides, if he said he liked anything or gave real advice, it would ruin his bit.

And I think he could benefit from some writing and scripting help. Caravan Ray would be a huge asset to bring him up a notch. Also, Paco is a natural at comedic satire. I'd like to throw my hat in the ring as well. Even as I was watching his bit, I heard great opportunities that he completely missed. :D

Examples:
Right off the bat, you can see how he has to start and stop as he is making the vid, but trys to make it unnoticeable. So these are the first thing that come to mind.
1. Make the edits, stops and starts ridiculously obvious. As in, be in a different spot a couple feet over when the cam starts recording again, then slowly move back to your spot from the previous scenes. Moving very slowly as to make it so no one notices you are moving back. I LOVE stuff like that!

2. Even though he has one cam, stop the cam, put it at different angles to make it look like multi cams. BUT, be as amateur as possible. As in, continue looking in the direction the cam was at before moving it to the new spot. THEN after a few seconds, act like he now sees the "red light" on the cam at the new angle and pretend he knew that and slowly start moving his position to face the cam. Stuff like this makes me pee myself.

3. Use the above cam angle shtick, but just as he gets to his new cam angle position, a few seconds later, move the cam angle back, but this time when the cam comes back on, he is in a totally different position and not facing the cam and again has to turn to the cam.

In other words, use his lack of technology to his advantage. And don't depend on his writing for the whole humorous part of the bit.

So there you go. No charge. You are welcome. :)

Billy And The Psychotics - Music was catchy & I liked Denise's singing. Lyrics were ok, but again...has there been a zombie outbreak in the lyrics forum or something?

Missions To Proton - I like the vocals & personality that came through in the performance. Musically it was fine, and felt like a pep talk for dealing with all the douchebags you find in an office setting.

Caravan Ray - Funny, enjoyable music, and a cool ending. Nice work with a stupid title.

Steve Durand - The story was similar to the previous song, but I liked these lyrics a lot more. Musically it kinda bored me though, and that's why it's 1 place lower.

Manhattan Glutton - The music was amazing, and the vocals were fine. I didn't really care for some of the lyrics cause at times it seemed like something a 14 year old with a hard on would write during study hall.

heine - Sometimes the lyrics didn't flow to well, but overall it's a fun song. Sometimes I wish I could boom boom my way to the top.

Juliet's Happy Dagger - The idea isn't bad, but I'm having a hard time picturing someone blowing up the workplace just cause they weren't noticed at work. I may struggle picturing it happening, but overall it was a good entry & I dug the music. You cheated a bit by not using the last 2 words of the title, but that's just a pet peeve of mine.

Berkeley Social Scene - Nothing stood out about this, and at times I could have used the lyrics in front of me.

Bubble Pipe Media And Viktor Walters - Someone with a frog in his throat...whispers...more frog... I'd rather kiss a frog than listen to this one.

chthXchthXchthX - I think someone forgot to tell you Song Fight is a songwriting contest. You don't literally have to beat your instruments to death.

EggNogAdam - Love the vocals, but you didn't overcome the stupid title & give us a story worth listening to.

MC Who Izzy And Kapitano - The music was the best part of this entry, but it bordered interesting & out of place a lot of the time.

Toshiro - It would be ruled a justifiable homicide if you were found beaten to death by some sort of musical instrument.

Trotsky And Marx - Too slow for my personal tastes. Just kinda depressed me.

The Yyarrell Brothers Band - Way to get me to care about the character...make him a douche driving drunk. Anyways...the music was pretty cool, and very catchy. No problem with the vocals, but the lyrics just didn't grab me. I look forward to your next entry.

Thanks, Spin. Our song wasn't about zombies, though. It is about a robot design for sexual pleasure. :P

I just meant that I wished people would use the forum more. People often seem to avoid it.

WAIT?!?!? Our robot was designed for sexual pleasure? I didn't write lyrics about a prostitutibot! I thought it was a Cylon... You know... Doin it for love! I dunno ... Perhaps I am a naive little thing....
I never know who is meant to post our Psychotic lyrics either. We are a merry band of silliness, often a little disorga-nozzeled about such thingylarities. :)

Well, we interpret lyrics the way we want. I want a sex robot. One with an electric pencil sharpener anus so I'm not tempted to put anything in there except dull pencils.
