heavy, yeah, but (this is based solely on the one song i heard on the radio -- i'm pretty sure it was the title track) still, meh.

of course i never really caught onto the whole celtic frost thing in the first place... so don't take my word for it.

Well, each to their own, I guess. I was a fan of CF back in like 1987, but I guess I mainly listened to that sort of stuff at the time.

This new album of theirs? I'm genuinely surprised how good it is- it's not just doom/death/sludge, there's a few songs that are goth, (like Obscurity would even like this album, I think) and some beautiful orchestral and angelic female vox, etc. Tom G. Fischer even
sings on a couple songs, too.

I guess I've just been waiting a long time for them to make this album, and I like it so far.

Brian Whitman is a music geek from MIT who had a cool tool online called EigenRadio, which is now sadly offline. However, his collection "A Singluar Christmas" is a nice way to tune out distractions at work (spacey electronic music)

I don't. My favourite song is Uh, Well I Uh.. You See The Thing Is, God How Do I Put It by Frank Sinatra.

I love the Islands song 'Rough Gem'

Me, Myself & Rye by the Russian Futurists
I've decided I like that Clap Your Hands Say Yeah album too, especially 'Upon this tidal wave of young blood'

Spinto Band on Y100Rocks.Com Podcast. They play pretty good acoustic versions of 'Brown Boxes', 'Oh Mandy' and 'Direct to Helmet'.

I saw "Dream Police" CD yesterday in the $2 bin at Crazy Clarks Discount Store!

For mine though - that was their 'jump-the-shark-' album. I'd love to hear 'Surrender' again though - that was a truly wonderful song

I just bought Screamin' Jay Hawkins' Cow Fingers and Mosquito Pie and it's absolutely out of this world. It's so spooky and funny and rockin' and just flat out weird. And he has a great fucking voice.

I hadn't listened to much Barenaked Ladies, but my brother just bought their best of cd, and it's pretty wicked. I didn't know they'd been around for so long.
