PedalFight?

EDIT: Pedal Fight is has become Guitar-Symphony-Fight. Please see dre's posts.
Okay, so I have about five guitar pedals that are currently being used as dust-collecting magnets in my closet.
I figure some of you folks probably have some pedals in similar situations.
Now, we could put these things on eBay, but let's face it -- that's lame. Why not instead pool our pedals, and have a (you guessed it) PedalFight! (I'm stealing the gearfight idea from a songfight elder, yes.) If two more people have got a handful of pedals they're willing to donate to the cause, the winner can pick five pedals tehy want, then the runner up, and whoever's third gets stuck with the shittiest pedals.
Give people a couple weeks so they can come up with somethin' really bitchin. The people that donate the pedals put their heads together and decide on a title... preferably related somehow. I don't know whether the pedal-suppliers should be allowed to enter or not.
So. Anyone else got some pedals?

I have a pedal that , though Japanese by birth, has lived in England for a long time. I'll ask him, but I don't think he'll be very keen.

I actually have quite a setup in that regard, but they're mostly vintage and boutique pedals kept in nice protective case, so I won't be putting them up for donation. I would however like the notion of a song filled with guitars that don't really sound like guitars because of all the effects on them.

I only have 3 pedals, and I like all of them, so I'm not too keen on giving any away, but I'd be happy to enter the fight and take other people's pedals, if that's what you're talking about. I especially wouldn't mind a compression, chorus, or a delay pedal.

I have zero pedals, and am always looking at getting cheap equipment that I can experiment with.
I will eye this thread with interest.

Can we just organize a pedal trade? I'd like some new distortion pedals, and can trade other pedals for them.

here's my thoughs on this,
i have 2 old vintage(bearly working..) pedals(cry baby,distortion)... store somewhere, just got to find them... never really used them anymore.
i will donate them.. under the following guide lines for a fight!

Guitar Symphony fIGhT!
an 8 minutes long opus, of as many guitar tracks you can make work.

i'd been wanting to do something like this for a while now... and i woulden't mind hearing what some of you come up with. heres some of the early rules
- at least 8 minutes in lenght
- at least 3 guitars playing at all times(well some what..)
- drum track/ bass optional
- no vocals or other instruments
- you take on what a symphony of 20 guitaris would sound like
- top 3 voated songs would get joined, into one long ass guitar symphony
track with the winner being last ??(eg: 3rd-2nd-1st)??

well there... anybody wants to play sing up... or they can become the rules for pedal fight.

my Tascam 4-track is plugged into my computer.
I turned up the volume on my guitar, and turned up the gain on my 4-track. This is how I also record my vocals, using an Shure SM57.
See the 4-track here:

If you look at the other pictures in this series, disregard the Zoom effects processor because it doesn't work anymore. Also disregard the J-station which I have been completely unhappy with thus far as far as tones are concerned, so I haven't used it much yet.
Voila.
ROCK!

I've actually heard that. Nels Cline took it on the road in the late 90s with Destroy All Nels Cline. IIRC, for a special occasion he _did_ have like 20 guitarists on stage at once.
Free Jazz.
Sigh.

Glenn Branca has done some spiffy things in that vein as well: 20 guitarists on stage was more like the norm than a special occasion. It was an article about him in some magazine that inspired me to start playing with odd tunings, as well, and since then I have used EADGBE only about 50% of the time.

This sounds fun, Ive always wanted to do this but always felt that that many guitars would be too annoying for anyone to listen to. Count me in. Hell, I even have a pedal or 2 to throw in. Crybaby wah and possibly some space station pedal I have. Ill see if I can find them. Who gives the final word on this fight actually happening?

I might well do something for this. In fact I almost certainly will. Count me in. Although my 'pedals' are all software based so that would have to be acceptable ....

addition to the rules:

at least four guitars are going at any given time. Otherwise someone'll just submit a pretty little classical piece and win, defeating the purpose of the guitar symphony..
meaning, at least four guitar tracks... it dosen't mean all of them at the same time for the lenght of the song, but at least a section of the song should have 4 layes of guitars..

I may try to do an entry for this, thanks to the generously far off deadline.
Also, reve, Nels Cline is my guitar idol of the moment. I've seen him a few times out here in the Bay Area over the last couple years, and he's amazing! Now if only I could get an Electro Harmonix 16 Second Digital Delay pedal like the one he uses for all his crazy looping stuff. That thing is sweet. His pedal rig is awesome overall.

"Pedal Dachau," he calls it... IIRC.

Ah, what the hell.
I am no Steve Vai, but I might be able to at least put together an interesting enough piece.
