Been sitting around, thinking about SF Live and considering taking on the undertaking of a SF Presents in NYC (I feel like that could be a positive thing).
While I ponder, I ask the question:
What has been your favorite SF Live/Presents performance?

I'm only considering performances that I saw in person. I'd say, Hoblit, Dre, JB, or Paco in Tampa, or Octothorpe in Santa Cruz. Leaning towards Hoblit.

Man i have no idea what i played or sounded like in Tampa. Ha.
My fav? Starfinger's performance of "Blimps" at Song Fight Atlanta. Blew me AWAY. Also BSS doing "Thinkin' About the Old Days"-- I think at the 2nd night of the 2nd Seattle event.

The Landfills!
The best part of putting on live shows, especially for songfighters, is watching people get better at performing.
The second best part is getting to know all the randos you've seen posting to this message board.

Oh, and Brother Machine. When they played Let's Start a Riot (or whatever it was called), it brought the house down.

I don't remember the specifics either, only that I enjoyed it.

I still have an mp3 of that on my computer. Love that song.
My favorites are:
Luke Henley's "Ballad of Rone Rivendale" from SFP Wayne, PA for shear comedic value
Glennny and Friends's "I Am Color" from SFP NYC v2 @ Sidewalk for personal reasons
Wreckdom's "Father and Child Reunion" from SFL Austin for ridiculous amounts of awesome

Every single SFLive performance has gone wrong for me in some way or another:
- Seattle 2003: had no fucking idea how to hold a guitar or play live
- Austin 2004: couldn't hear myself sing, probably for the best
- Boston 2005: well okay this one went pretty well I guess
- Santa Cruz 2006: combination of way-too-rich lunch and huge stagefright meant I was puking behind the scenes. also got no rehearsal at all. still went pretty okay?
- Spokane 2009: hey this one went great come to think of it
- San Francisco 2010: nobody could hear JB on the cello :(
- NYC 2011: hahahahahaha nope (performance would have been great if anyone could have actually heard us, I guess?)
- Seattle 2012: we completely fucked up the opening song for the set but I think the rest of the set went kind of okay
- DC 2014: oh wait this one was fucking awesome
- Portland 2015: weird technical difficulties with the guitar at the beginning. Actually this one went really really well too.
anyway I think my favorite SFLive is Seattle 2003 because while I fucking sucked and nothing went right for me, this was my first time meeting any Song Fight people in person and it was a great time and a wonderful experience and is the big reason I ended up making sure I moved to Seattle later on and I love you guys so much

Man, I had totally forgotten about that. Yes, that was amazing.

2006 Santa Cruz- was my 1st experience of JB's What we need more of is Sciene, I was a spectator and not a participant.
2007 in LA, the Seamus Collective- Ignorance is Bliss was amazing. also Ross Durand doing Convalescence (which might have been part of the the Seamus Collective set)
2008 in Brooklyn was awesome because Boltoph sat in with Ziplee (the cavedwellers with the Prisoner from Zipline on drums) for a version of his song Ottoman
I also really enjoyed playing the WSA classic "Late to a Funeral" with Glennny and Friends.
I was very excited to meet Ben Krieger and hear him do a one man version of Cable Beach!
2009- Shaiel doing Pompeii "Say the Word"
Actually my favorite part of Spokane was the Hootenanny in Glenn's backyard, jamming with Irwin, Mike Lamb, and Glenn Case, Roymond ,etc.
2010- San Francisco! Jonathan Manns set was great! People dancing to "Interesting TImes" in the BSS set (song is in 13/8).
2012- ADD doing "Cassettes"
2015- playing with my kids, niece, nephew and cousin, so fun!
so many other memories I left out, but those were what came quickly to mind.
