I wrote a song years ago called "Walking On Eggshells" or something similar.

Was that a Songfight title?

Or was it one of the side fights where somebody nominates a title maybe?

Oh right - it's here - Circle of Titles 3
http://joneric.table2.com/Circle3.html

Do I get immunity because I have already done one?

(actually "wrote a song" is probably a bit generous - listening again it just seems to be a mishmash of vocoder samples that eerily seems to accurately reflect my domestic situation back at that time. Creepy listening)

At the same time as Naked Philsophy had to write about something 'In My Hand'. Roger. I see you've up/backdated your instrument.

I see I suggested 'Eggshells' in the Circle of Titles. I knew I liked this title for some reason. I'd forgotten because of my space brain.

If the guest is a spoken word artist, can they have significant creative contribution to the song?

Is the pressure getting to you Ben? Trying to sub-contract the work out?

Beth Lisick is my favorite spoken work artist from back in the late 90's. Most of her back up band was in another favorite band of mine called Eskimo.

Her book Monkey Girl is hilarious also.

This challenge got me remembering the Beth Lisick Ordeal.

Like BSS before me, I was far enough along on my song for this round that I will still be submitting it, despite my sweet sweet immunity. I hope you enjoy it! (Or not - it doesn't matter! Mwah ha ha!)

Don't be surprised if I'm out this round. I may have gotten a bit too ambitious with my guest partner, and I definitely won't put off Mother's Day plans to get it done. That's the way it goes with Nur Ein.

Alright, it's in. The mix is poor and really hot, but it will have to do! I wanted to avoid the easiest route (write a spoke word part that fits into a song and just drag someone else in to speak it) and try to take the challenge into riskier territory, so I corresponded with my friend Jon Berger throughout the week, trading off verses with only a faintest idea on the direction we wanted to take, and then had him record them on tempo to his phone and email them to me. For kicks, I included all the previous challenges: it's an origin story of sorts, inspired by the chicken farm that recently went up in flames, and includes animal sounds. Lyrics posted.

It is Not Safe For Work with some language liberties taken. thanks to Dave Leigh and to Tom G of Boffo Yux Dudes. :) I'll say nothing more just now.

In. Exploiting as many 50's clichés I could manage, including the ubiquitous spoken word break.
Made my son George do the speaking.
He's 14 and his voice has plummeted octaves in the last year. Sounds older than I do now.
