Hotel by Elysian Ring
It's four a.m., the band has torn down
Two weeks isn't long enough.
Again we pack up, it's the same old routine
Living on the road has gotten tough.
It's been a year since I last saw my home
I sometimes forget what it's like.
State to state, playing music in bars.
Earning a living and going through life.
Another town, another old hotel
Just another stop along the way.
Soon enough we'll again bid farewell
I wish just once longer we could stay.
Though lonliness can be hard when your life is a tour
and the days can run long.
No other passion could help me endure
except my love for song.
The hum of the interstate, a familiar sound.
Just eight hundred miles to go.
Above the horizon the sun peeks its head
Yesterday's gone, a new day in tow.
Another town, another old hotel.
Just another stop along the way.
Soon enough we'll again bid farewell
I wish just once longer we could stay.
