Luc Besson found a director who could make a movie that looks like Luc Besson directed it. The script is involving, the direction competent, the cinematography nice and crisp. Jet Li does a great job, Morgan Freeman does his kindly-old-man bit, and Yuen Wo Ping keeps the action interesting.

A from me. Bob Hoskins is frickin' great here. And Jet's totally adorable/fearsome. Didn't let me down, even though I was awfully psyched to see this (let's see if you will be able to say the same, Willy Wonka...).

This is like the fifth thread that starts with JB reviewing the movie and giving it a mark, then RxW reviewing it and giving it a slightly higher mark, and then C.Layne adding his two cents. Just thought it was odd that all of SF's movie buffs are so well synchronized.

I give Puce's post a whateverJBgaveit+. Observant and concise, plus Toni Collette can really sing!

My new favorite Kung Fu Flick banishing such great films as "Master of the Flying Guillotine," "Fist of Legend" and of course "the Story of Rikki Oh."
