Turn Off Your Phone by Praise Muzak

Turn off your phone for the way that you’re feeling
Skip all the stones you’ve collected on weekends
And left in the glove box of your car

Step into the river it’s cooler in there
You can wash all the fictions right out of your hair
Let them color the water and sand

And a waterfall crushes you
And a rainbow cuts through you
And an optional feature that you knew
Would always be useful goes unused

You could wring the water out onto your feet
And feel the cool drips in the thick august heat
Let the dead leaves stick to your soles

Find your phone up the shore and it’s battery worn
Drive around for hours to get home
Let your headlights dissolve in the light of the morning

Somewhere in the world someone new is named
After someone who recently died
Every moment takes another moment to adjust
To the moment that’s just arrived

My name is dust!

Pigfarmer Jr - Turn Off Your Phone

Won't you turn off your phone, my dear?
There's no reception anyhow
Won't you turn off your phone, my dear?
'Cause no-one can help you now

You thought I was stopping to help
Instead I kidnapped your son
You put up a fight so I had no choice
And now we are on the run

Won't you turn off your phone, my dear?
There's no reception anyhow
Won't you turn off your phone, my dear?
'Cause no-one can help you now

We've been running for days
We're miles away from any town
You hid your phone, it'll do you no good
You might as well put it on down

Won't you turn off your phone, my dear?
There's no reception anyhow
Won't you turn off your phone, my dear?
'Cause no-one can help you now
No-one can help you now

Turn Off Your Phone - Paco del Stinko

Look at this nitwit texting as he drives
Weaving over lanes, endangering our lives
If he has a crash, I'll yell as I pass
Attaboy, way to go, dumbass!

Turn off your phone, just leave it alone
Look around and see what you left behind
Selfies and Facebook are a total waste of time
And your so-called smartphone, is rotting out your mind

Come around the corner, see the gang of teens
All standing there together, faces in their screens
Who are you talking to, aren't you already with your friends
You're missing out on a nothing that never ends

Turn off your phone, just leave it alone
Look around and see what you left behind
Selfies and Facebook are a total waste of time
And your so-called smartphone, is rotting out your mind

There's something to be said about technology (technology)
Sure, it can help us out a lot (a real lot)
But not at the cost of disabling your brain, (brain) common courtesy, safety and new experience (experience)
And dismissing what you've already got (you've already got)

At the supermarket, mama in the aisle
Blocking all of our access gabbing all the while
Make up your stupid mind and just bring a fricking list
Your selfish yapping is leaving us all pissed

Turn off your phone, just leave it alone
Look around and see what you left behind
Selfies and Facebook are a total waste of time
And your so-called smartphone, is rotting out your mind

Turn off your phone and let me in I wanna
find out where this road ends and the next begins
Finish your beer and throw your bags in the car ninety three
million miles away ain't even near enough far

And I got a box of Cubans that I smuggled back and I didn't have
to bribe the border agent cause he didn't look twice at me or my bag

Chorus:
She said everybody's got a story to tell
Every man has got a soul to sell

You pour yourself another gin and tonic, mostly gin, you never
were the kind to hide what kind of shape you were in
If someone were to ask just what you were to me I think I'd
have to say nothing, and you'd have to agree

So we left that hotel burning like the oil in that old hatchback, put as
many miles as possible between us and the memories of our past

Chorus

The car died in New Braunfels, we took it as a sign that the
road did not go on forever, the sun don't always shine
I hung around and looked for work but not too hard, I never
could be asked to bust my ass or even count my cards

So I went and signed with Uncle Sam with nothing else to do and I am
glad that we're apart but also happy for the memories of you too

Where did you go, what did you see?
Are you ever coming back to me?

When the rain falls on your face
Is that a feeling you want to replace?

Baby talk to me, just open your mouth
Whatever you say, just let it all out
Baby talk to me, make you known
Or otherwise, turn off your phone

Where did you go, what did you see?

This is a song about etiquette
Don't hold your phone above your head
If you got to film, hold it in close
So you don't disturb, the rest of us folk

This is a song about etiquette
Don't hold your iPad in front of my kid
If you got to film, hold it in tight
And please sir, turn down the light!

This is a song about etiquette
We're still behind you, after you sit
And your video is shaky, the aspect is wrong
So please just stop, turn off that phone

<talking part>

Then you are there...
With your iBalls
Staring at your child
Which is probably more profound...and meaningful
So just enjoy...
