The fact they are both means of listening to music isn't the point of comparison.
They can both host individual songs. In the context in which they were both brought up in this thread, seems like they are 100% feature complete.fodroy wrote:I've considered hosting individual songs on Soundcloud but haven't made the decision to do so yet. What are the upsides of using Soundcloud vs. putting everything on Bandcamp, which is what I currently do?
I'll stop trolling now, sorry.

Wow, uh, derailed a bit. But anyway.
I have a random collection of songs here: https://soundcloud.com/heuristicsinc
I seem to put one a year there on average. No recollection why.

On the other hand, if you don't like my vocals, almost everything on there is instrumental.

Re: 9/6/16 Are you on Soundcloud?
I don't have ANY opinions about this subject.
HOWEVER, it doesn't seem like Bandcamp is a place to interact, and Soundcloud never makes me think ecommerce. Neither makes discovery a very pleasant experience, and I'll call out Bandcamp especially so since it hasn't figured out what genre means yet. At least on Soundcloud you see a lot of comments pointing you to another band's page.
