I'm going to try this again this year, even though I could only just get started today. Anybody else going to try to make something every day this month? It's not too late to start! I plan to backfill my missed days. Here's what I crapped out tonight.

Awesome! I hope someone makes their fun-a-day rapping over your fun-a-day instrumentals. This one seems like it would be great for that.

I'm just going to keep posting these here I guess? Funky jam tonight with a cool breakdown. I wanted to start off with Clavinet (you know, the thing at the beginning of Stevie Wonder's "Superstitious"). I've been listening to Childish Gambino's new album and it's rekindling my nostalgia for 70s era keys including Clavinet. Also phaser guitar.

Keep 'em coming! This one sounds really great, really dig the clav sounds, and that's some sweet guitar playing.

Glad you like 'em! Here's tonight's. It's definitely weirder than last night's.

Allow me to contrast your "fun" with this midi piano version of "Somewhere Out There" from An American Tail that my mother roped me into making for my niece to sing at her school talent show.

Ha, nice! Maybe you should do "MIDI piano version of a song from an animated movie" a day?
I went a little more normal sounding tonight:

Love the harmonized melodicas!

Thanks! I would just play both notes at once, except, my melodica is out of tune, so, I play monophonic tracks so I can autotune them. :/

I've found that if you just open it up and clean off the reeds, it usually gets back in tune.

How about I bring it to the space tomorrow night for our next repair project?

Short on time tonight. Sleigh bells + toy piano = creepy?

Last night's music was the BSS "Auld Lang Syne" entry that we finished up. Tonight is more mellow acoustic 70s sounding stuff. And I just realized I have been messing up the URLs for the SoundCloud tracks, and forgetting to start them with "2017-" so they don't conflict with last year's songs, and also the day numbers in the URLs are not matching up with the day numbers of the song. OMG!

More electronic tonight. I was playing around with a vocoder and made a cool synth pad that became the foundation of the music.

There are a lot of these that I enjoyed listening to. Better than any attempt I would ever make for a thing a day challenge such as this.

Thanks! I think there are some good moments here and there. I just wish I either had more time or was able to write more fully fleshed out pieces of music more quickly. I feel like I can sit down and have some kind of single idea that's usually at least OK. But I'm kind of stuck there, haven't gone beyond that yet.
Anyway, here's another quick one from tonight.

Maybe you should consider polishing up these ideas for the RPM Challenge -

That's not a bad idea.
Today I went down to the BSS space and rocked out some cheesy riffs and solos.

Tonight I started working on a cover, but, it's going to take me two nights to finish it. The second night will have to be Wednesday night because tomorrow night is BSS night.
