The Song Fight Bulletin Board

Howdy!

A while back I mentioned to Mr. Jerkatorium that I'd like to host a sidefight, and he told me about Themesong Fights, wherein each participant is randomly assigned a fellow fighter and tasked with writing a theme song for them.

Signups start now, and close February 28th. If, by then, we have a minimum of 8 contestants, the fight is on! Songs will be due April 1st.

You may also PM me any stylistic requests or biographical information that you'd like forwarded to whomever is tasked with writing your theme song.

To whet your appetite, I've attached an example of how awesome these songs can be, enjoy!

Side thought - While Paco del Stinko has done an awesome Nur Ein theme song, I still need a relatively short SongFight theme and assorted stingers for the Listening Parties if someone is interested.

OMG how is it that there are only 5 confirmed? Are there really so few egomaniacs among us that the prospect of someone writing a song for and about you holds no appeal? Whatever happened to your sense of insularity and incestuousness? Whatever happened to your cliquish self-importance?

I genuinely think this is a great idea. I prefer the SideFights about SongFighters the most: Original Flava, the Hxaros, etc. I really hope that we get at least 8 contestants confirmed by next week so that Jerkatorium can write an epic theme for one of you lucky saps. Oh man, one of you is going to be so, so lucky. I envy you.

In 2005 it wasn't secret Santa - we all knew who was doing our songs and asked each other for information. So you don't necc. need to be man-in-the-middle with this one.

Good to know. If it turns out that we get enough participants (unlikely) I'll keep that in mind.

I've extended the deadline and the call for participation another week to Feb 28th, as we seem to be picking up more folks who don't read the boards every day. I'll officially kick things off with the assignments March 1st. Deadline for your submission extended to April 1st.
