It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

Post by AJOwens »

Before seeing this film, I watched the Netflix documentary "Won't You Be My Neighbor?", and I'm glad I did. It provided essential context. Also, I was able to spot the real Joanne Rogers during the restaurant scene.

"It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood" is a thought-provoking film with some charmingly playful aspects. The psychological journey of the protagonist is a little too smooth and effortless for plausibility, but hey, it's a movie, we don't have all day. Heartwarming without being nauseating, the film manages to convey, almost as well as the documentary, the simple mystery that was Mr. Rogers.
