I'm not sure if I'll be in for this one with a Phlebia entry, as now I'm trying to juggle both springtime gardening stuff, kids being home, AND working on my Gift of Music entry -- but I think I said that last week and pulled something together so we'll see.

I wrote and recorded mine on the day it came out. I'm in education and was technically on spring break last week. My plan before all of this craziness started was to use spring break to work on a project that I hatched on a long run several weeks ago. I was not going to do this Songfight but the title spoke to me and quickly I was able to merge the title and my project with one song. I've played a recurring fictional character over my entire musical career and this song is an homage to that character. I wrote a couple of other tunes over the week that have not been recorded... I also got distracted by "Love In the Time Of"... so yah, Songfight seems to be in control. ha.

Brown Word is in, trying something a bit new. I think this is somewhat more upbeat than last fight, but I dunno...

That makes two of us. Phlebia: 3.33x faster and shorter than last time in a major key.

Plenty of time on my hands for once, so I'm in for this one (like a lot of others I'm guessing)

I'm fine-tuning my entry as best I can. I can't decide if the backup vocals are incongruously goofy, or the main vocal is incongruously responsible. Anyway there it is. This morning I have to fix the drums -- as best I can.

[edit] Sent in. Doesn't sound quite the way I want, but I don't know what to do about it.

I'm working on lots of things and won't have them in by deadline as I'm at work (I don't mean to brag, but I'm ESSENTIAL!)

Gaping Maw is in. This punctual SF! turnaround means I'm only half done my reviews for Love in the Time of - which I'll finish tonight. Had to jump into recording mode.

Short turn around and the most entries since Nur Ein ended! My reviews are mostly done - once I get shoehorn and WreckdoM written then they'll be done. I have a super short entry and my son has a super short entry too (with a little help). His music teacher loved it - too bad he won't be back in school until first grade starts. Maybe. :/

Dammit! I finally got the recording gear unpacked today and started a song, but just realised I read the date in the Australian way again, not the US format, and it’s due today, not on the 4th like I thought!

I got nothing for this one again, but I'm gonna get my gift of music song recorded this weekend and use that momentum to launch HARD into whatever the next fight is. If I say it here then it'll definitely happen. Maybe.

I started working on an idea a few days ago, but I'm not sure I'll manage to get it all recorded and submitted before the new fight goes up! Maybe I can cannibalize it for the next one if not...

As someone who recently stockpiled two years worth of propranolol, I look forward to hearing The Lowest Bitter’s song. (I also just finished and sent in a very late song.)
