Well. That was unexpected.

We’ve been in lockdown for 11 weeks, and not a song has fought its way out. Until this weekend, when three chords and some misery slipped out around the edges of a mountain walk.

Today, Lollypops finally went back to school and came home humming my tune. So we carpe’d the diem, and stood her in front of the mic, and left her alone to record new lead vocals.

I continue to be a terrible mixer, so I’ll fiddle a little longer and then submit before time slips away again.

It’s been rad, thanks for still being here, each and every one of you.

I have officially returned. Entry submitted.

And for the record - Lollypops did her own tracking. I was banished from the room and she made her own creative decisions about tracks, effects, panning, etc. although I did add some reverb and panning to her atmospheric vocal track.....

We proved that we are very busy by using only first takes for each track and spending no more than an hour on mixing.

After re-listening I think we proved how very busy we are. Enjoy!

Yeah I imagine if there was an actual prize and fightmaster actually got paid then the deadlines would be more concrete. But...eh, I never mind the extra day or two!

Sam has said that it's actually an important part of SF history... that the deadline is fluid and in no case concrete. That being said, I bank on it more often than I should.

In this case I was making more of a note about rushed song submissions rather than an admission of guilt. I was planning on skirmishing it last night but ended up spending a lot more time on it than planned. Not that you'd know from listening.
In other words, if not for the extra day I wouldn't have had a song in. I've been in a funk.
