The Song Fight Bulletin Board

Went and saw Eugene Mirman in San Francisco at Bottom of the Hill (which is a nice place to see a show, all told). Eugene is a funny, funny man and he's got eight more shows on his tour, starting with Seattle on Saturday. You should check him out if you like funny.

He's also got Langhorne Slim opening for him, and he's a righteous "new-folk" Appalachian/Americana/Bluesy kinda guy&guitar guy who's also quite good. I got a CD of his, even, he had me after two numbers. I think his CD features more instrumentation, can't wait to check it out (tomorrow, after I get some sleep.)

Both guys get the Yook Stamp of Approval.

P.P.S. Eugene is a friend of a friend, and I've met him once or twice in the past. Which is why I was at his show. But I wouldn'a be pimpin' him if he t'weren't funny, y'hear?

Is your friend of Eugene's named Ruby? A friend of mine named Ruby was talking about the show, claiming to be friends with Eugene also. She's from St. Croix or some such island...
