This week's entry brought to you by my brush with Percocet after a surgery a few years back. I didn't abuse it, but god did I see how people could fall down that hole.
Yeah... the lyrics are rad... IRCBFF is floating along at the moment too... I scrapped my old original idea but have been putting in some bits and pieces into a great big collaboration effort instead which is fun.

I really want to be in for this but with my a/c broken since Wednesday I have had a sincere lack of motivation to do anything at all. It is supposed to be fixed this Monday, please send me all of your coolest vibes of energy songfighters, i need it now more than ever!

I’m done
I wanted to record something that sounded like American Analog Set. I think I missed the brief by a country mile, but I like where I ended up.

Damn.
Ok, I always liked this song, but can't put it in because we wrote it 10 years ago, as a part of a Video Game themed lp that never got totally finished.
But I'll play it at the LP next Monday. And leave the link here just because I loved Al's performance. I felt like he was on that world weary ship.
Also debating on doing a freeform listening party tonight if people are around. It's been 10 weeks in a row and I'd hate to lose the momentum, since there's no new fight up yet.
I love Niveous' Idea to listen to ALL the ond archives. I wish I had the time for that, but might listen to his highlights, and perhaps do some LP's based on his thoughts in the future.

A Niveous GEM LP in installments? Just a thought.

Listening Party for 'Floating Away' next Monday 7/20 at 9pm EDT.
Drop in and chat with the artists!
You would think, me having a sailboat and many times sailing the Atlantic, that I would jump at this title......but Nooooooo (as John Belushi would say)
Too busy actually...floating away on our 320 from North Carolina. I’ll be back in a week or so. And, if I have service, I’ll pencil a review or two...
Stay safe and healthy all,
Toby

Nothing went right on this, at all. I tried to turn it into a novelty song, and I don't even think that worked.

Brown Word in. Wasn't my best work or even a decent vocal performance. Went back and redid vox. Please enjoy this autobiographical ditty about 3 twenty-somethings and a senior citizen in a wheelchair taking on New Orleans Mardi Gras 2000. Big-ass beers, beads, hurricanes, roast beef sandwiches, trying to find a legal place to relieve oneself, wall to wall humanity, Hurrahs casino, that old man river. Quite a time. As John (RIP) would say, "thousands of people making a joyful sound unto the lord".

In.
A neighbor came by for some last-minute fiddle tracking. Wish we'd had more time, but I was able to chop together a decent part. Other than wanting a 10% better fiddle track, I'm really happy with this one.

I spent so long fruitlessly trying to think of some lyrics for this that I had to sacrifice an even remotely interesting song structure. So I'm in with a track that doesn't really go anywhere and has probably the most generically vague set of lyrics that I've ever written. On the plus side my wife was impressed with how (relatively) in key my vocals were so I'm hoping I've turned a corner on that front. Mediocre competence here I come.

Welp, it's in, just a couple hours late, whoops. Looking forward to hearing all the entries even if I didn't quite make it.

Running a bit late on this one. Tried to do a Rentals kind of thing about the first crew to man the International Space Station.

@robyn - You're fine. As long as you're in before the new songs get posted on the front page. Also, good to see you.

In with a song that’s five times as long as the event that inspired it.
