If I can "get it together" then the mystery of "where the hell is roymond lately?" may finally be solved.

I'm in!
This will be a special one for me.
10 years ago, I sat in front of a crappy laptop on vacation with my brother, and we recorded our first songfight together. We had a ukulele, our voices, and Audacity (and a random band name generator. "Ukulele Train and the Men" will ride again someday, but not today).
Anyway, I then went to college across the state. Then my brother went to college out of state and moved to DC. Then he moved to Florida. Now, years later, I've moved to Florida!
With a little more production experience, but the rust of not having played in a few years, we sat down this morning to see if we could crank something out. I'm pleased to report that 6 hours later, we pooped out a banger. I've gotten so entrenched with musical bells and whistles like horns, strings, endless synths, and actual bells and whistles that I've forgotten how fun it is to write a dumb rock song with no pretentions. Sorry for the rant, it's just very exciting to be "back." Now we just need to figure out a band name by Tuesday...

If I get my vox recorded tonight, I should get it done in time.

Almost done with my lyric sheet, then i'll get my vox recorded and submit the tune. Then i'll be pretty much forced to take a SF hiatus by imminent arrival of a new loinfruit. (A term I picked up on SongFight years ago because Caravan Ray always used it).

Brown Word coming in with a song originally called Mystery Solved. It was only when I was going to submit that I saw it was ANOTHER Mystery Solved. So the lyrics don't quite add up to the correct name, ah well. This has lots of strummy strings and some clarinet for your listening pleasure (or torture, whatever floats/does not float your boat).

Maaan, so I got to drinking with the irc guys & played an instrument for the first time in like 10 years, then the first thing I did was submit the track labeled all wrong.

In, with a vaguely christmassy, vaguely anti-vaxxer song. Emphasis on the vague.

Ours is sort of Christmas-y too... if by Christmas-y you mean dying a horrible death in the snow...

I’m in with a song that reflects my roots: writing third-rate boombox-era Mountain Goats songs. It’s just me, a guitar, and a desk. Credit to my students for the subject matter.

I'm in with some adidas-core.

And you're only 2 posts away from joining me on the dark side... at least they won't be comparing your song to what they'll be comparing our song to this week.

These past couple of days I've been shooting/editing three videos in an attempt to release them all in the morning, so I'm gonna have to try and have a crack at this tomorrow. Let's see how much of a song I can make in a day. I have an idea and I desperately want to do it.

Well unlike my Disembodied Voices, there's no Slipknot influence in this one so I can't reply with "IF YOU'RE 555 THEN I'M 666" and have it really fit in the context of the fight...

I'm there with something hastily done but it is in 3/4 time.
It was hard not to add sleigh bells but I held firm

I'm in with what I'm pretty sure is the worst song I've ever recorded. I tried to start with the vocal melody first, and it was an unmitigated disaster. Then I tried to see if I could improve things with heavy-handed processing, which didn't help much. At least it's in 3/4, though I'm not sure anyone could tell.
