Three Quarters
Three Quarters
Pigfarmer Jr
I'm tired of racing through both space and time
Almost afraid of what I'm going to find
Three quarters moon over the planet blue
We're gonna die tonight
We tried to warn you but you don't understand
I drew the short straw so now here I am
Three quarters moon over the planet blue
We're gonna die tonight
I start the countdown now I'll end your threat
Wipe out the danger without regret
Three quarters moon over the planet blue
We're gonna die
We're gonna die
We're gonna die tonight

Re: Three Quarters
Three Quarters by the Library Dogs
Day one is the first day
The end is a long ways
So you can't help but stay
In the moment
At one quarter you're still down
But it's what you expect now
And you can't quite wrap your head around
The End
(So just) Put one foot in front of the other
Take one step and then take another
Man I know thatyou want to be done with
All this crap; this marathon that you're running
Half way point behind you
It gets harder to fight through
But you think you can see to
The end
But that's when it gets rough
Three quarters is so tough
Cuz you've had just about enough
Moments
The finish line is in sight
I know you're tired of having to fight
And it may not feel right
To not be to the end
Each step is a new day
And some how the only way
To get to the next step is to stay
In this moment
Day one is the first day

So you can't help but stay

Three Quarters - Paco del Stinko
I put a dollar in the change machine
I dropped one coin rolled away unseen
I only had three quarters I could use
I had to beat the game I could not lose
I put one in began to play
Then I blew them all away
Then I had to learn the hardest truth
I lost a life then the other two
The second coin I was forced to use
Why oh why was I so clumsy
Dropping that quarter really bummed me
So I tied my shoes, pulled up my pants
Gave it all my bestest chance
And pretty soon I had that game a'humming
On quarter three I lost another ship
My chance at victory began to slip
At the arcade my reputation was made
For only using a buck a game
But truth be told three quarters was quite bold
And if I lost the fourth was to blame
I reached the end but to my dismay
It said another coin to finish play
I put a dollar in the change machine
I dropped one coin rolled away unseen
I only had three quarters I could use
I had to beat the game I could not lose

Bringin' the stink since 2006.

Three Quarters - Brown Word and the Big Whine
Well the moon was at three quarters
The sun was in the seventh house
The cards was on the table
But the hand was going south
But I only had three quarters
I was already halfway in the hole
And I was just a penny shy of disaster
When something told me not to fold
It was just three quarters past midnight
When it was suddenly crystal clear
I was playing with wooden nickels
And someone else was paying for my beer
But I only had three quarters
I was already halfway in the hole
And I was just a penny shy of disaster
When something told me not to fold
(No, I'm telling you there are 5 aces in a deck.
It's a German deck. Lookit the acorns.
Jokers are wild where I come from.
So are twos. )
Well you think I missed the mark taking a shot in the dark
But buddy it was worse than that
Three quarters in the hole my friends
Oh brother won't you pass the hat
(I can assure you that this coin is genuine. Bite it once!
Okay, have you heard of old and new pesos?
You have to account for inflation.
Whoa, put down the stick!)
Well you think I missed the mark taking a shot in the dark
But buddy it was worse than that
Three quarters in the hole my friends

Three Quarters
(Best Ager's Hippie Dream)
by heine
Three quarters of me
they want the sun to shine
but one quarter wants to be blind.
Blind to all this hate
the world is drowning in,
a song of love we all should sing.
Sing! Come and join in!
Let's chant away the blues,
happy times are waiting for you.
You, you, me and you -
we are one big family,
we should stick together in harmony.
We don't need flowers in our hair
to show that love is everywhere.
We don't need no booze, no dope
to feel that there is still some hope.
All we need is a helping hand,
a friendly smile, an ear to lend.
What a great place this world would be
if we would live in unity – you and me.
The Chant of Joy
Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
Four quarters of me
they want to live in happiness eternally…

Governing Dynamics
I had three quarters
In the palm of my preteen hand
In through the double doors
And past the old pretzel stand
Only three quarters
No that won't buy much fun
Maybe pac-man or pitfall
Or Area 51
Fed that machine fifty cents
Two thirds of my escape done
I squared up my shoulders
Dual wielded twin plastic guns
i got lost in the arcade
Cause I didn't want to be found
Awash in the neon and jackpot bells
Arrested by sound
My mother couldn't find me
For hours she looked
I was not in the toy store
Wasn't lost in a book
No cyberspace had me
In the grip of it's evil hand
I was stuck watching
People who had made better plans
One quarter to spend
But that would be the end
I came back years later
Twenty dollars in a paper roll
With excess I lost the danger
Still felt the magic but lost the soul
i got lost in the arcade
Cause I didn't want to be found
Awash in the neon and jackpot bells
Arrested by sound
Stars and planets burning from the ground
Don't tell me about time I'm wasting
Life shouldn't be for testing but for tasting
They shut down the arcade
I still kind of find it sad
There's no room in this world
To throw good money after bad
They shut down the arcade
I still kind of find it sad
There's no room in this world
To throw good money after bad
All of youth's relics we're forever forsaking
Underneath the progress my heart is breaking
Can't get lost in the arcade
Cause there's work to be done
And it's long darkened and silent
You can ask anyone

Three Quarters - Robyn Mackenzie
You're like a bullet through the heart
A fiery arrow, a poison dart
You took me in, you laid me down
All the way into the ground
I looked to you, you were the sun
Burning slowly while I spun
Said I was equal in your eyes
Your prophecy, your petty lies
And now I see
What you're doing to me
It's a shame
You got no one to blame
You hold me underwater
You love to watch me fall
You got me by the collar
My back against the wall
And if I had a dollar for every time you call
Well baby I'd have three quarters
You say we'll never be the same
You never call me by my name
You leave me drowning in the rain
I lift you up, accept your pain
But now I see
No apologies
It's a shame
You got no one to blame
You hold me underwater
You love to watch me fall
You got me by the collar
My back against the wall
And if I had a dollar for every time you call
Well baby I'd have three quarters
You like the ones who look like you
The ones who sanction what you do
You didn't know that I would fight
For my humanity and rights
'Cause now I see
No apologies
It's a shame
You got no one to blame
You hold me underwater
You love to watch me fall
You got me by the collar
My back against the wall
And if I had a dollar for every time you call

Three Quarters The Magnetic Letters
I want you, I need you
You know that I love you
But I never said that I'd up the duff you
That's three out of four, c'mon now why you look mad?
'Cause if that ain't good it's one twelfth better than not bad
Once upon a time I thought I was in love
Turns out I really just needed to fart
Nothing much to say
Partial eclipse of the heart
You took the dentures right out of my mouth
Must have been while I was eating you
know what I mean
I swear it's three quarters true
Now I'm toothless again
I want you, I need you
You know that I love you
But I never said that I'd up the duff you
That's three out of four, c'mon now why you look mad?

As I'm standing here in front of you I want to let you know that I am okay
It's taken a long time and I've been working hard but now I'm able to say
My glass it isn't half empty
And I'll tell you that it isn't half full
I've filled it up to three quarters
And it's all inside of my own skull
When I was a little boy I thought I'd never ever have to grow up
But time keeps pushing me forward and the voices never seem to shut up
I was told I had to come to terms with hardship and the real world is rough
I was lying to myself I'd have to try a little harder to be good enough
My glass it isn't half empty
And I'll tell you that it isn't half full
I've filled it up to three quarters
And it's all inside of my own skull
I am tired of feeling guilty, I am never gonna be the way that they want
And I'm sorry that I left behind a different life but now it's time to move on
I'm trying to save myself because I now there's no-one else who's gonna do it for me
And now I'm on my way to be the person that I've always wanted to be
My glass it isn't half empty
And I'll tell you that it isn't half full
I've filled it up to three quarters
And it's all inside of my own skull
In my head I've found place of peace and calm that I'd been missing for so long
Getting stronger every day I fight the pain away and I am sure to carry on
I'm playing my guitar, it takes me far away, my music makes me happy tonight
And as I'm standing here in front of you I want to let you know I'm alright

Re: Three Quarters
Phlebia ft Sweeney Toad
Just over a quarter past four hit my dealer
I’m looking to score put out the pot feelers
But my dealer dry hi there impending doom
What do you know she’s got enticing shrooms
Exciting news it’s better than nothing
Clouds getting dark weather is coming
She’s pulls out the bag and then leans over
She whispers wanna get high? Here’s three quarters
Make me murder my brain cells
Tripping balls I know the game well
I hear that faint yell in the back of my mind
Don’t do it it says but damn it I’m fine
I can handle psychedelics relax
I came to find the relics of the past
Eat em up fast my brain bleeds sorta
Feel them flow through my veins all three quarters
my third eye's open wide
i feel the psilocybin...
Straight trippin out, I'm kinda flippin out
Curdle my mind like its been sittin' out
not sure what's going on
Move my fingers, the color trail lingers
That's right my neurochemistry's tinkered
I think it's coming on
Start to get giddy, feel a little trippy
Turn on the tv check the news in my city
It’s not pretty we under attack
Suddenly I hear a thunderous clap
Power goes out so I venture outside
I summon an Uber lend me a ride
A spaceship flys by in the sky blows up the traffic
Cancel my Uber no thanks scratch that
Martians in the streets zapping peeps into skeletons
Martians are mean they screech like pelicans
I feel like Mexican need that nacho smell
Might be my last fourth meal need that Taco Bell
Walk up to the drive thru no one is working
Crawl through the drive thru window I am thirsty
Hurry to the soda fountain no doubt Baja Blast
Scarf down fast pocket hot sauce packs
Head on back out to the skeleton streets
A cop on a horse starts yelling at me
Go home now he shouts as he orders
The population dwindled down to three quarters
Advance my evolution
Impair my elocution
Straight trippin out, I'm kinda flippin out
Curdle my mind like it's been sitting out
Don't know what's going on
Move my fingers, the color trail lingers
OH yeah my neurochemistry's tinkered
I think my neurochemistry's tinkered
I think it's coming on
Machine elf sitting up on the shelf
Did my consciousness come from outside myself?
Don't talk to me cause I'm gone
I took a scoop of the fractal soup
Cause it sounded like purple sunbathed in tape loops
You feel like Cinnabon

Take the Spring Road to the northern lot at the Tunbridge Fair
The National Guard parking cars in the autumn air
Admission booth near the footbridge where they watered the cows
The fleece vest folks came and made their case and they don’t do that now
You see the bingo gamblers and the rickety scrambler and the chia pets
Mad Dog Vachon and the Butcher selling their miracle magnets
A senator milks a nubian goat, doesn’t give him much flack
Ecuadorian panflute band with a backing track
Three quarters two dimes and a nickel
A dollar’ll get you a slice of cheddar and a pickle
At the end of the midway there’s a sugar shack below antique hill
If the one lunger doesn’t draw you in then the switchel will
Floral Hall handmade dolls and the urinal trough
Demolition derby’s gone, seems we’re going soft
The oxen pull, the worsted wool and the intact bulls
The cockerel chicks who made it through the august cull
Three quarters two dimes and a nickel
A dollar’ll get you a slice of cheddar and a pickle
The flying bobs and the man who robs you at the dunking stool
A blacksmith in an baggy shirt with his iron tools

Re: Three Quarters
Governing Dynamics
I had three quarters
In the palm of my preteen hand
In through the double doors
And past the old pretzel stand
Only three quarters
No that won't buy much fun
Maybe pac-man or pitfall
Or Area 51
Fed that machine fifty cents
Two thirds of my escape done
I squared up my shoulders
Dual wielded twin plastic guns
i got lost in the arcade
Cause I didn't want to be found
Awash in the neon and jackpot bells
Arrested by sound
My mother couldn't find me
For hours she looked
I was not in the toy store
Wasn't lost in a book
No cyberspace had me
In the grip of it's evil hand
I was stuck watching
People who had made better plans
One quarter to spend
But that would be the end
I came back years later
Twenty dollars in a paper roll
With excess I lost the danger
Still felt the magic but lost the soul
i got lost in the arcade
Cause I didn't want to be found
Awash in the neon and jackpot bells
Arrested by sound
Stars and planets burning from the ground
Don't tell me about time I'm wasting
Life shouldn't be for testing but for tasting
They shut down the arcade
I still kind of find it sad
There's no room in this world
To throw good money after bad
They shut down the arcade
I still kind of find it sad
There's no room in this world
To throw good money after bad
All of youth's relics we're forever forsaking
Underneath the progress my heart is breaking
Can't get lost in the arcade
Cause there's work to be done
And it's long darkened and silent
You can ask anyone

Re: Three Quarters
Three Quarters - Sly Eli
We are three
You are four
You're a whole
We're a core of pain and bitterness
Cold dry hands
Clean white floors
Nothing moves
Blood and gauze can't fill this emptiness
If a monster calls
Tell him not today
Three stories he has told
The fourth can waste away
He doesn't care for hurt
He's born of leaf and dirt
Holding on
Desperate touch
Speak the truth
Will you judge? I want this over
3 of 4
One last kiss
Not enough
I'm not giving up so easily
If a monster calls
I won't turn away
Three stories he has told
The fourth is mine to say
He doesn't care for hurt
He's born of leaf and dirt
We are three
You are four
You're a whole
We're a core of pain and bitterness
Cold dry hands
Clean white floors
Nothing moves
Blood and gauze can't fill this emptiness

Re: Three Quarters
Yaks of the Industry: "Three Quarters"
Verse 1
High stakes but I do not care
Too close, almost all the way there
I’m all in, why don’t you wish me luck?
I’ve got three quarters and zero fucks
Chorus
Three quarters, rivers and horses
Three quarters, almost to gorgeous
Three quarters, Bentleys or Porsches
Three quarters, sex and divorces
Verse 2
Stack the ducats five miles high
Fill the buckets with beautiful sighs
I have this town by its grimy throat
I’ve got three quarters, you don’t get a vote
Chorus
Bridge
Money might be a foolish lover
But if I can’t have one I’ll take the other
I know what you want to say
But I’ve already made my play
Verse 3
Seventy-five, discount applies
I’ve never been very brave
I have to roll the die while I’m still alive
And gold plate my grave
Chorus
Three quarters, rivers and horses
Three quarters, almost to gorgeous
Three quarters, Bentleys or Porsches
Three quarters, sex and divorces

Re: Three Quarters
I watched you walk away like it didn’t mean anything to me
I covered up my ears so I can’t hear what you’re saying
I couldn’t be hurt if I didn’t care from the beginning
Still it left me feeling empty
This isn’t me
I know I should but don’t do it
This isn’t me
I want to stop but can’t help it
You asked for food, I shrugged and lied “I don’t have any money”
You asked for help, I kept walking ignoring what you said
I saw you shaking in the rain but then I looked away
And told myself you’ll be OK
This isn’t me
I know I should but don’t do it
This isn’t me
I want to stop but can’t help it
Most of the time I’m hiding something
Most of the time I’m hiding something
Most of the time I’m hiding something
Three quarters of the time my goodness is hiding
I covered up my ears so I can’t hear what you’re saying
I couldn’t be hurt if I didn’t care from the beginning
Still it left me feeling empty
This isn’t me
I know I should but don’t do it

I want to stop but can’t help it
Most of the time I’m hiding something
Most of the time I’m hiding something
Most of the time I’m hiding something
Three quarters of the time my goodness is hiding
Not a musician; just a guy.

Three Quarters - Night Sky
Blue sky morning by the sea
Stella opens her sweet brown eyes
In your big soft bed with satin sheets
She got a real luxury life
I got three quarters in my pocket
Jingle jangle jingle jangle
It may be that I’ve been forgotten
But I got a plan got an angle
I’m nothing but her used to be
Looking in from the outside
I’m wearing my heart on my sleeve
Standing here in her line of sight
I got three quarters in my pocket
Jingle jangle jingle jangle
It may be that I’ve been forgotten
But I got a plan got an angle
She’ll remember life with me
I made her skin sizzle and her heart smile
We don’t gotta worry about money
The law says she gets half your pile
Blue sky morning by the sea
Stella opens her sweet brown eyes
In your big soft bed with satin sheets
She got a real luxury life
I got three quarters in my pocket
Jingle jangle jingle jangle
It may be that I’ve been forgotten
But I got a plan got an angle

Re: Three Quarters
Moody Vermin
Back in this place again
Flashing lights and sirens
In a straight line
Between dreams and lies
I swear I'll win someday
Three quarters
Is not much to go on
In your cathode ray playground
But I'll play til it's all gone
Sunken eyes, shortened breath
My intentions are intense
You twist the path
Til I can't see the end
I swear I'll win someday
Three quarters
Is not much to go on
In your cathode ray playground
But I'll play til it's all gone
Three quarters
Is not much to go on
In your cathode ray playground
Give me one last chance
Back in this place again
Flashing lights and sirens
In a straight line
Between dreams and lies
I swear I'll win someday

I am definitely too square for how experimental this is, but I can imagine that if I was in the right state of mind, the section starting at 2:20 might transport me to another dimension - jeffhenderson

Re: Three Quarters
Three Quarters, by the Sewer People
Do you remember how it used to be?
Packed in like sardines, you dancing with me?
Yea, I like the way you move,
We fell in love with the rhythm and groove,
arms around me when they play “True”
Three quarters in my pocket
and I’m looking for that jukebox:
I want to dance with you.
You want to dance with me?
And will we ever get it back?
Get it live in the club?
You pour me home at the end of the night
and everything’s going to be all right.
Chorus and other stuff.

Three Quarters
Three Quarters
by WreckdoM
Gimme a quarter and I'll scoot my boots
Gimme another quarter I'll shake my patoot
I need one more quarter to flash my glutes
But that's all you gonna get
Cuz I only need seventy-five cents
For a coke or a candy bar
Natty Daddy or Snowballs
To get me past the wall, get me past the wall
Get me past the wall, get me past the wall
Get me past the wall, get me past the wall
Gimme a quarter you can smell my wig
Add on a quarter I'll dance a jig
It takes one more quarter, I root like a pig
But that's all you gonna see
Cuz three is all I need
For a small cup of coffee
Or a loosey cigarette
To get me to the next, get me to the next
get me to the next, get me to the next
get me to the next, get me to the next
So, how bout it Jack, you got my motherfucking seventy-five cents?
