Just noticed the new Foo Fighters album is on my Yahoo Unlimited, so I clicked. So far pretty good! Thank god. Last album was terrrrrrible. Even Grohl thinks so.

Of course, I haven't listened to the words really yet, and that was the most awful part of the last album... so we'll see if I still like it once the lyrics penetrate.

But still, with the last one I was immediately aggravated by the lyrics, on first listen, and here I've gotten through three songs so far without noticing anything that makes be go "ugh".

Up until the last album, there wasn't a Foo Fighters song that I disliked.

I didn't like most of the last album at all.

Your review of the new album thus-far gives me a shred of hope.

ROCK!

I lost interest after ..which ever one has Monkey Wrench on it.. the second one. That one and his first, I thought were stellar, but no songs compelled me to buy any further ones. Now, I may have to check this out...

hahhahaha, I was just mentioning this to someone the other day, that "Monkeywrench" is the dude benchmark for Foo songs, and that "Everlong" is the lady benchmark.

Hi, my name is Erik, and I am a dude.

hi, my name is c.layne, and i guess i'm a lady?

the first foo fighters record is still my favorite by far, with 'nothing left to lose' is by far my least favorite. i guess i wish they would've just kept that really gritty sound. i really hate the new song.

that's funny (that you all are saying the first one was the best or whatever) because i absolutely despised their first record. when that band started i lumped them together with silverchair and bush in the category of bands i could not bear to listen to. it wasn't until a couple of years ago (whenever they did that song 'one' or 'the one' or whatever, and few other songs) that i really started noticeing that they maybe weren't as bad as i originally thought. certainly not silverchair bad, at least. not even everclear bad.

Bought the two CD set at the same time as the new Gorillaz disc (thanks to a gift card for a CD shop that I got for my birthday).

Was irritated that I didn't notice the "This CD is copy protected" sticker in the lower right corner of the new Foo Fighters album.

I was still able to make the mp3 files by holding the 'shift' button while inserting the disc. Thanks, Marcus.

I am still not sure how I feel about either of the albums, sadly. "Feel Good Inc." immediately grabbed me on the Gorillaz disc. Not much of anything is leaping out at me on the Foo Fighters effort yet.

ROCK!
