Jack Kilby invented the integrated circuit, one of the inventions that make songfight (and many other phenomena) possible. He is regarded along with Edison and Ford as Americans who have changed the face of the planet. Although he won a nobel prize for his work he never saw hardly any of the trillions of dollars in revenue that his invention created. He was by all accounts a humble and happy guy. Humans don't get much better than that.

there should be a songfight title to honor him. if spalding gray and sarah vowell got a title, jack kilby surely deserves one too.

possibilities......

"short circuit"
"hit the board jack"
"chairman of the board"

uh...ok. so i like puns.

Good point jack, how about these doomed-never-to-appear titles:

a Grain of Sand
