Sea Change, by Stacking Theory
Okay, I think I got this right - the song starts in A, heads over to B, and then comes back to A (I hope)
We start with the Please/Breath section, which bounces between an Amaj7 and F#m (the I/vi of A)
Then suddenly ‘you’re giving me something’ in C#m / Dmaj7 / A ( the iii/IV/I of A)
I start carrying on about what I haven’t got as I slide down Abm to G to F# and land in the Sea Change which swings between F# and E (the V/IV of B), until it bounces back through C#m and E to my old pals Amaj7 / F#m (as a journey through the iii/V/I/vi of A)
Of course - I could be wildly wrong, and am happy to be corrected.
lyrics
Baby
please let this moment start
i’m looking forward to cautiously warming your heart
breathe - give this half a chance
i came and i saw and i conquered and all that i wanted was art
you’re giving me something that i haven’t got
that I haven’t got
that I haven’t got
no I haven’t got
you are my sea change
carry me on your wave
you are my sea change
bury me in this place
you are my sea change
you are my sea change
you are my sea change
you are my sea change
please
let this moment start
