Mr. Blonde is ... Frankie Big Face!
Frankie Big Face has been hanging around SongFight off and on since 2001. He submits under the names Frankie Big Face, Mellified Man, Brainsocket, Puffy C and the Pig Face Baptist Choir, and maybe Juan Carlos de la Cueva Castianeda Oliveros. He is a two-time Nur Ein winner and all-time Nur Ein instigator. IRL, FBF is a retired music teacher and orchestra director, who still conducts musical theater in his spare time for money. An award-winning published composer, he has his own publishing company (Opus Now! Publications) and has written two symphonies. An avid baseball fan and traveler, he has visited every major league ballpark and most European countries. He is (somehow) married to his amazing wife Shenna, who can be heard singing on the song "Rear Window," from his 2020 album Muy Dramático.
Mr. White is ... Lunkhead!
I started checking out Song Fight in 2001 then started submitting songs in 2003. I fortunately got pulled into the very lively Song Fight scene of the SF Bay Area in the 00's by Ken. In addition to playing in Ken's live band, the New Incredibles, I co-founded the groups Loyalty Day and Tiny Robots, as well as the most prolific fighters ever, Berkeley Social Scene. I've also been lucky enough to be a duo with the lovely and talented Erin for many years, first as Merisan and now as Moss Palace, and as of this year we've won Nur Ein under both names! Song Fight has provided me with so much. I've been trying to give back, by building the Song Fight Jukebox, and taking over as primary songfight.org admin since 2015. Outside of Song Fight I'm a software engineer, and I've worked for Pandora (the US music streaming service, not the jewelry company) since 2013. I want to give a shout out to frankie for taking the initiative and making SOMESONGS happen. Go frankie! Thanks to all the participants for signing up and making a bunch of great music. I've enjoyed listening to your creativity very much and hope you came away with some songs you're proud of.
Mr. Pink is ... Aciniform Artifice!
Mr. Pink is otherwise known as Aciniform Artifice on the SF message boards. For those too lazy to visit dictionary.com and/or too young to remember, the name is a riff on "Artificial Grape" from one of the long-ago user rankings. He was formerly (primarily between 2004-2009) a participant in SF as a musician and occasionally as a cover artist (and in numerous side fights, both as a competitor and as a judge) under various solo and collaborative project names; an attendee and performer at multiple live SF and SF-adjacent events; a prolific reviewer of the original Somesongs website; as well as a lurker and (sometimes) shit-stirrer on both the old Dumbrella and the current phpBB boards -- rejoining in the past couple of years (after a very lengthy hiatus) as an occasional reviewer and commenter, preferring the relative anonymity of the new A.A. moniker. In real life, he is a corporate accountant from southwestern Pennsylvania, who likes to unwind via the peace and solitude of birdwatching walks through the woods, while dichotomously also spending plenty of time listening to metal and other heavy music, which is the focus of the website he has been maintaining for the past 13 years at valleyofsteel.net.
Mr. Brown is ... Pigfarmer Jr!
Pigfarmer Jr has been participating in SongFight more or less consistently since 2009. He most often submits under the names Pigfarmer Jr and Dead Ambassadors. He regularly submits album art for SongFight and Nur Ein (and they are even sometimes used.) He has previously judged Nur Ein and SpinTunes, is a regularly participant in FAWM and the 50 Songs in 90 Days songwriting challenges and is a coordinator for his local songwriting group. Pigfarmer Jr has worked in the recycling industry for the past fifteen years and is a member of the Missouri Recycling Association. He earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do in 2009, is a licensed third party CDL examiner in the state of Missouri and is a motorcycle enthusiast. He is a husband, the proud father of two young women and, as of this past summer, a grandfather. Some day he hopes to graduate to Journeyman Pigfarmer.
Mr Orange is ... Lester Bangs!
No, sadly, Lester Bangs is still dead. Mr Orange, in one the least surprising reveals since Elton John came out, has been Johnny Cashpoint all along! Ha ha suckers! Professional musician*, amateur idiot-baiter and unintentional causer of palavers since 2001; Internationalist, Dadaist and armchair socialist for longer.
Likes - punk, dub reggae. more music than you'd think, comics, himself.
Dislikes - whatever you like; I mean, really, what even is that you're listening to? The criminal under-use of the semi-colon over the last fifty years, being censored on my music bio ...
"You say you don't love me
Well that's alright with me 'cos I'm in love with you
And I wouldn't want you doing things
You don't want to do"
... If you made your songs better, I wouldn't have to call them out ...
*depending on how you intepret that phrase, but hey, everyone's doing it these days
