Do you think that nobody knows?
Do you think you got the wool pulled over?
Do you think that you could stand on your toes, if you were in a wheelchair?
You think you can beat the bulge, the hangover
the one that you feel every day
Wish I could be more like you, Mister Hey Joe
on the side of the highway
waiting for the man to take you away
Must be a hundred degrees, and you're still smiling
sitting there in long sleeves!
Just so fat & happy
No one could make you budge
and I don't think anyone could even attempt to move you
But they'll school ya
they'll smooth you down
if they catch you red-handed
they'll take you around
Wish I could be more like you, Mister Hey Joe
sitting on the side of the highway
waiting for the man to take you away
Well it's a hundred degrees
and the side of the highway just pushed you out of the way
Maybe it's your T.V. tray
or the way you sit there, looking so creepy
You'll never be fat & happy
You'll never see the sunny side of the street
