I wasn't going to be doing this one, but then once again I heard a rumour that more entries would be appreciated, so I did my fastest song so far. If you've seen my intro and re-intro posts, you might remember that I've been an aspiring nerdcore rapper for a long time, but this is my first nerdcore songfight, and as such it's my first songfight using the Dr Proximo moniker I adopted nearly 20 years ago. I spent a couple hours before going to bed last night putting together an arrangement based around a two-chord vamp, then today I wrote the lyrics in a few hours, and recorded the vocals over three very frustrating sessions. For the lyrics, I made up a story vaguely based on another story. I haven't read Pathfinder by Orson Scott Card, but I looked up a synopsis, because a search indicated that the story has items that could be called spacetime crystals. In the section introducing the character Rigg, the synopsis says "the innkeeper Nox has incredibly valuable jewels for him", and I made up a bit of a prequel to that, from the perspective of someone who has been tasked with reclaiming the crystals after they got stolen, long before RIgg got sent on his journey.

As I said in the Discord chat, this could very well be one of the worst songs I've ever made, yet somehow I'm very glad that I got it done, considering how quickly it came together.
