Team America: World Police

I saw the sneak preview Saturday night, and it was pretty good. The sets are amazing (1/3 scale). The whole idea of the movie being a complete cliche action film (with puppets) is great, and they pull it off really well. The music is also quite good, with pump-you-up hooks like "America, FUCK YEAH!!!" (too bad the soundtrack won't be out until November 2). Overall, it's very entertaining with intense actions sequences and loads of funny. The end speech about dicks, pussies, and assholes is touching. There's a pretty decent sex scene, too.

My roomate is friends with a guy who worked on Team America. He said that the crew all had wristbands that said "WWJD" for "What Would Jerry (Bruckheimer) Do".

Just saw it. It was hilarious. A few too many parts were taken directly from South Park, though. (Example: Remember the "Gonna need a montage" song from the timeshare episode? It's here.) Still, great.

Also, Kim Jong says, "You're breakin' my balls..." to the UN inspector in the very similar voice of Cartman when he tries to sell aborted fetuses. Still good.

Yeah, I was just naming one, but I noticed it a few times.
Again, it's still worth seeing.

god, this movie was hilarious! i don't think i've laughed that hard at a movie before. the puppetry was perfectly sloppy and well done at the same time. though it did have alot of toilet humor, that didn't take away from how friggin funny it was at all. my only complaint is that the celebrity impersonations were terrible. but i'd still give it an A!

Well, that was something else taken more or less from South Park. Those guys don't try at all to sincerely impersonate anyone.

Maatt Daaamon.
Hehe, it was a great movie!
The Puppet Sex was.. a little too much..
the music was pretty good but there wasn't enough!
The South Park Movie was much longer too and just as consistently good.
The dramatic throw up scene was just.. too funny.. I cried.

I liked it. I thought that the funniest parts were either their songs (that country song was spot on), which I almost always find amusing, and the lines that are so retarded that at first you don't even notice their retardedness. Like "Sometimes, believing is all we have." Like, that almost makes enough sense to not be funny, until you think about it, or hear someone else laugh in the theater.

The songs are still stuck in my head. Man, they were great.
"...'Cause Pearl Harbor sucked... a little bit more than I miss you."
"Mmm, 'cause freedom costs a buck-0-5. (mmm, buck-0-5...)"
"lick my ass and suck on my ballsAMERICA! FUCK YEAH!"

America... FUCK YEAH!
I really liked this. I thought the best part was how well they exploited the limitations of puppets.
Also, I like the little hidden jokes about the scale. (ie: the belt buckles were made out of quarters, the palm tree leaves were $1 bills, etc.)
I gave it a good solid A for laughing my ass off while watching it. Very enjoyable.
...and for those who thought the puppet sex was too much, just wait till the DVD when they have the 4 1/2 minutes they had to cut to get the R rating.

Saw it last night. Worth my $6.50, even though I was only supposed to spend a dollar (student deal... pssh). I love how it started off with the even crappier puppets. Some of it was Trey Parker and Matt Stone just being obscene for the sake of it (holy crap, I did not see that coming, nor would I ever have in a gajillion years!), but most of it was hilarious. I particularly liked the "Pearl Harbor Sucked" song, and the "Montage" song. Yeah.

I just got through watching this.
I have a headache now from laughing so hard. This film is awesome! I was glad for the slow parts just to catch my breath. There was outright humor as well as well thought out subtle humor.
I highly recomend this film to anyone who likes Matt Stone and Trey Parker. Southpark fans especially.
The songs were just terrific!
