This post is probably going to elicit 0 replies, but I have to say it because I'm wondering. It's obscure, I know, but on the odd chance someone knows both these pieces of music and maybe even has noticed it before:
The song "I Loved You Once in Silence" from the musical Camelot sounds extremely similar to the lyrical theme from the 4th movement of Beethoven's 3rd symphony. And I wonder if Loewe did that intentionally, subconsciously or coincidentally.
