Some reviews done from memory at work. Haven't heard these for about 8 hours, so forgive me if I get something wrong ...
Bjam
So glad to hear the original and not the Aphex Twin remix

Your voice sounds sooo good on this and it's a lovely melody. You should definitely work this up into a full song. But please the leave the brilliant random cut-off at the end, please.
The Bovine Recyclery
I liked this a lot, am impressed with what you can do in half an hour. That phrase 'your ears disappears' is stuck in my head now.
Caravan Ray
This is great - and a good simple arrangement. I really like the mix of cheesy and harsh in here (tonally and structurally) - it's the sort of thing I wish I could do. Vez good. Amen, indeed!
Feldspar
Hanson I do not hear but that is probably because I have had 'eternal sunshine of the spotless mind' type surgery to have them obliterated from my memory! Yeah, that's the Feldspar sound and lyrical mood, captured in one little segment - for some reason the outstanding lyric for me was "this is my prayer for pancakes to fall from the sky" - I just love the image, I guess.
Glenn Case
Great recording, always good to hear GC getting his thang on. Sickening that you can do all this in 1/2 hr!
The Hip Cola
I really need to listen to this again as I remember the excellent groove and cool sounding lyric but I can't really remember anything specific. Sorry, man - I will listen again and update this review!
Hostess Mostess
This is utterly charming. 'Noooooo' seals it for me and also the fun that is oozing out of every channel of this cute tune. Your kid is a natural! I love this.
Jim Tyrrell
The chord sequence seemes really really familiar, but the lyric was fun and I love your jazzy inflections and smooth smooth voice. Hooray for Jim Tyrell!
J$ - That's a microphone stuffed into the guitar-hole for anyone who wants to recapture my challenging guitar tone!
King Arthur
Another 'how did they do this?' i love the rhythym of your words / melody - it immediately makes the listener want to like you. There is a kindness to your vocal tone as well, which, well, just suits you. King Arthur in a nutshell, this song. Clever words, interesting take, makes you smile while you tap your foot along.
Luke Henley
I have to admit I prefer Luke Henley's sound when, like here, he doesn't have time to go back and fuck around with his song. A good Dylan-esque sound, great second vocal track. Tightened up and this a live favourite.
Marcus Kellis
I love Marcus Kellis, his witty loucheness always astounds.
I love Marcus Kellis. he's faux-stupid profound
I love Marcus Kellis and his chinese mandolin sounds.
So it doesn't scan - sue me :p
Me$$iah
I remember thinking great vocal and great bass tone! Is 'fight of song' really 'wrong'?
Starfinger
Saved personal favourite to last. I know it's a bit stupid to wax lyrical about something that was a rush-job, but really - the bass is funky great, the synths mad in a good way, the groove impeccable, and the lyric - it has an epigrammatic quality that Martial would be proud of if he had been American and into food

I mean in four lines, you present a conceit and devlop it, and then give it a great pay-off with the chorus - the very best way to do a literal take on the title, especially when everyone else was going off at an angle. Really, I would prefer to hear this when I eventually see you play live than The song which We Don't Mention Round These Parts No More (you know the one I mean). You are a genius, Starf, and you make me want to get good at business, make a bagload of cash quick, go buy a huge record label like EMI, and set them to work just releasing Starfinger product. I want a Starfinger doll, that when you pull the string at the back, it says 'Say a Prayer for your pancakes'
Puce - I remember being mighty impressed by the guitar tone and the melody was strong. I would need to have another listen to form a clear opinion....
JB & Spud - I haven't heard this yet, but I will do, worry not!
