Barenaked Side Fight!

The idea of having a side fight of
Covering Barenaked Ladies songs has just started floating around, thanks to me wish listing a ton of BnL songs upon people.
So... I propose a
Barenaked Side Fight! To who ever is up for it. I say if you already know a few of their songs that you'd like to cover then post which one and then cover it, and if you don't have a clue about BnL then let me know and I or Puce could suggest a good one.
Are we all ready to get Naked?
Optional challenge to the fight: Record your song while playing it Naked. (note to non-BnL fans) On every album BnL records at least one full song completely naked.

Question: What kind of rules or Time frame should we set? and no Puce we can't bar Josh Woodward from participating.
As for insentive: I think I could think up some kind of Graphic Reward I could do, maybe a splash page design for whoevers website, or CD cover. Or maybe I could think of something else.

I want to do this. There's even a BnL song I have in mind. I think it's called 'If I Fall', but I'm not completely sure.

How do we make it official? Does it need the Fightmaster stamp of Approval? (Not Sarcastic with that question)

I got it:
War On Drugs - off of the Album:
Everything To Everyone
The live version from the Dallas Show is really good too. I have both of course.
or if you want older:
The Flag - off the Album:
Gordon

It doesn't need anyone's "approval". If you want to do it, just announce it and whoever wants to plays. Simple as that.
So which song should I do? I only know a few of their songs.

I kind of agree Jim, I'm just worried no one will actually join in.
A few Suggestions for you: Jim of Seattle
Lovers in a Dangerous Time - Album: Disc One: All Their Greatest Hits 1991-2001
Next Time - Album: Everything to Everyone
Hello City - Album: Gordon
Box Set - Album: Gordon
I Love You - Album: Gordon
Sell, Sell, Sell - Album: Maroon
Tonight is the Night I fell Asleep at the Wheelwithout the hidden track called Sun. - Album: Maroon
Alcohol - Album: Stunt
Call And Answer - Album: Stunt
Who Needs Sleep? - Album: Stunt
Just a short list for you .

But I agree with Puce that anything off Gordon would be a good pick.

i'm in, but i have to peruse my collection and find a song i would enjoy doing. question: would it be frowned upon to go with one of their big hits? (i mean like a more recent one, i wouldn't want to ruin "if i had $1,000,000" for example)

Ooo -- sounds fun.
I'm thinking I'd nab a B-side like "Trust Me" or "Back," maybe?
Of course, all of this is assuming I get over my inveterate laziness....

This tune is actually a Bruce Cockburn song.

If I may be pednatic as well, the hidden track on Maroon is actually called "Hidden Sun."
Did you bootleg this concert? Or is there an official live concert recording of "War On Drugs" around? Because that song is positively gut-wrenching. I crave it.
Also, my recommendation to Jim (O) is to find a live version of "Call And Answer," with Kevin's awesome piano solo, and try tackling that.

Off-topic: Generic you annoy me.
Back on topic: Wait again this is off topic.
Bootleg it, are you kidding me, no I got it off iTunes Music Store. It was performed at the Dallas Concert back in March, which I attended in person I might add. The recording is good but is still only a recording next to having seen it live.
Back on topic?
Call and Answer would be a good song for JoS but I think the other suggestion I gave were better overall for Jim.

Yes. Yes it is. You get a cookie.
What you may or may not be aware of is that BnL's cover of the song was their first hit, which is why it is a notable part of Barenaked history.

May I mention that I love you bortwein??? Barenaked Ladies was my first musical love, and I still love them, though maybe not as much. If I had recording capabilities, I'd be all over this. I was going to offer to help people choose songs too, seeing as I have all their albums, but looks like bortwein's got that covered. I'm really excited to see the results if this thing gets off the ground.

I'd liek to do Trust Me, a b-side off the Shoebox EP, but it depends on teh time frame and how long we have to do this.

He's just one opinion, and no one has yet to suggest any song off either of the only 2 BNL albums I own: Rock Spectacle (live album) and Maybe You Should Drive.
Or even if not from those two, a second opinion is always welcome.
And I second the request for a timeline for this thing.
