Super Furry Animals!

Post by Future Boy »

I went to see them last night. It's my second time seeing their live show. Just as excellent as the first time, but a lot was the same. However, I was able to purchase their new CD and a DVD of videos and remixes, so it was worth it. This is a really awesome band. If you aren't familiar with them you can check out their website http://www.superfurry.com or just buy their album Phantom Power, which is my favorite.

It's like, electro-country-psych-rock.

"Until the end of the World" is beautiful. In fact that whole album was quite amazing.

they were one of the two bands that opened for grandaddy at the 930 club in dc. we thought, man, this is way too loud - the whole sound is devolved into mush. and then when the soundguy did the same thing to grandaddy's set, we realized what the problem was. crappy sound guy. it was one of the worst concert sound experiences i've ever had. so i don't actually know what these guys sound like. sounded like crap, but then again so did everything else at that concert.
ruined grandaddy's music. they have complexity and sensitivity, and it was just MUD.

SFA is real good. We have their new album at the station, though, and all reports are that it isn't that great. I guess I'll take a listen sometime and report back.

The new album is aight. It's not as lush as Phantom Power, but I don't think they used the same producer. The new one has more electronic stuff on it, which is cool. Some of the rock on it has gone a bit backwards, though.

This is the one band I make sure I see every time they tour. Gods among Welshmen

In the beginning, life was shit. Then SFA recorded Radiator.

and for hours of fun try playing "Spot the crap Furries album", it's tough.
