I sort of remember them, but it's foggy. However, they were an established band who is now offering their new album for free download, with a pretty well thought out statement about why.

I actually liked it. After a few more listens, they may actually get a sale out of me.

Me too.

Edit on 17th after having listened to 'little by little' a lot. It's good, and well worth a listen. So go on... You know you want to.

On the 16th they'd had 100,595 downloads.

huh, I'm glad I decided to randomly check the Songfight boards today.
I actually own one of their cds, Where have all the Merrymakers Gone, and it is quite good. I've always liked the 90s alternative rock scene. I grew up with it. Bands like Cake, Beck,Presidents of the USA have all gone on to continued stardom in 2000, but Harvey Danger seemed to die out. I'm glad they still kicking.

OK, so now here's Jane Siberry's new music store, where she offers pretty much all her releases (she had bought back her own catalog before starting her own label).

You may have known her work with Brian Eno on "When I Was a Boy", especially the song "Calling All Angels" from the movie "Until the End of the World". Or not...

Interesting thing here are the pricing options:

1) Self-determined price - pay now
2) Self-determined price - pay later
3) Standard price ($9.99/album, .99/song)
4) Gift from Jane ($0)

This applies to everything in the catalog! Each album has hi-res liner art to download for printing.
