It sure would be nice if the cover art were on that page.

Here's a couple of tunes we cobbled together with some video. The first is an original song and the second is our version of a Christmas Standard. Love to get some feedback.

This year I decided that I would do a Christmas song in the Heuristics Inc. style. Here is Jingle Bells.
Then Starfinger remixed it, under one of his aliases: Jingle Bells (Dr. Kong Remix).
Happy holidays!

Hey SF! Been a long time... but I'm still kicking. I'm a sucker for Xmas music, so this thread has always had a place in my bookmarks.

This year I fired up the electro-tron for Rudolph - hope you dig. Best wishes to all you katz and may yer musicmaking be merry in 2010! Sure hope to be around a bit more than 2009...

Merry Christmas!

OK then. It's up. Thanks for the suggestion, Ken.

p.s. if anyone else is parsing this data, I had to add an image tag after the commentary. It is "none" if there is no image.

So I wrote two xmas songs this year, one in September and one today. So:

Susan, a christmas song

(Really liked the new SF title, but thought the subject matter would be out of date by the time the songs got posted.)

and this one, from 50/90

Letter From The Front, November 1914 (featuring the mighty Mr Balham on bass and drums)

There's some other ones by me somewhere in this thread, as well. Should the mood take you.

And another, more jolly, equally NSFW. Or NSFXmas either :)

Simply Havin' A Swingin' Christmas

Lyrics:
the weather outside is dreadufl
But inside we've got a bedful
Of like minded folk
Up for spit roast
By a roaring fire tonight

The dustmen they came collecting, they
Got a present that they weren't expecting
Not just the bins
They're emptying
And they're tucked in tight all night

Simply havin' a Swinging Christmas

The postman's come, got snowed in
With his sack's still bulging, so he
Shoves them in
My wife's stocking
And delivers some first class fun

The weather outside's appalling
But if Santa comes a-calling
With a ho ho ho
And let's have a go
My chimney's always open

Simply havin' a Swinging Christmas

Serving up the xmas pudding
Instead of coins we have put in our
Car keys so please up and at her
See if you have pulled a xmas cracker!

Simply havin' a Swinging Christmas time.

Hey All,

I'm starting to think about holiday music and wanted to throw out the idea of an "official" Songfight Holiday Album for this year. If you have the time or inclination to write and/or record a holiday song, I can put them all together with some artwork for 2011. I'm thinking the deadline would be December 20th. I guess this is just a head's up/reminder/interest level meter kind of post. Thoughts?

Shouldn't the deadline be much earlier to anticipate the holiday season?

so should we post links to the songs here? PM links to you? are we talking standards/covers or originals?

I've got a couple I recorded last year with some friends.

Okay, if there was a deadline, we could make it the 14th of December, if we announce it on Monday that would give everyone a month to work on tunes.

New tunes or covers... Do people have a preference? The thing I would like to avoid is people recycling things they've already done.

Just thinking of you, Ken. Hanukkah starts the 21st. Or do we only play Hanukkah songs during Hanukkah? The xmas folks...well, they've already started their thing :(

I'll do something. Cover or new, definitely not something from whenever ago.

Sorry to running a little late on this everyone. I came down with a pretty serious cold and still haven't quite recovered yet. I'll start a new thread and stuff as soon as I'm up to it.

Since we are leaving the old things behind, as is best in this particular case; moving to new winter holiday favorites in a new thread I thought I would drop this particular Yuletide Bomb; as an appropriate (?) amount of time has passed since Caravan Ray posted his adorable and family friendly video.

My track is just audio. A few of you have heard this already, i think i sent it in an irc chat. But it is not suitable for work.

EDIT: it's also real cheezy and I sound silly.
