Today, December the 8th marks the 25th anniversary of John Lennon's murder.

I will update the song entries in this post as they come in, and as I have time.

I think Ellis Paul's song <a href="http://www.ellispaul.com/index.php?page ... y=140">Who Killed John Lennon?</a> is a brilliant statement on the subject, and I uploaded <a href="http://glenncase.songhole.org/Lennon/wh ... on.mp3">my cover of it</a> this morning.

I encouraged anyone who wanted to, to cover a Lennon song, and post it here in this thread today. No assignments. Multiple occurances of the same song are fine. Here is the result in order of appearance:

Man, has it been 25 years already? My hand is in a cast right now but I'll try to enlist some help and make this happen. Great idea Glenn.

at the risk of sounding like a completely ridiculous idea, i'd be willing to mix up a songfighter version of "give peace a chance". i could create a simple 8 bar drum loop as a click track to synch to and post it, and if anyone wanted to they could rap a verse and sing a chorus and i'd mix it all up.

if people were interested. PM me. :)

I think a Lennon cover would be up the Kandagawa Hitmen's allley. I've just gotta get Aurora on board.

I just realised I don't know what we're doing. Are we doing a cover, or are we writing our own verses?

Send me a link to the loop. I'll see how many of the Octo gang I can get to give it a go...

hey, this is shaping up pretty good! i'm going to record the chorus loop tonight, and will send a link to those that have expressed interest so far.

it's not too late if anyone else wants to join either.

The Songfighter Rainbow Coalition for Peace lives! :)
